First visit here on a whim. The food was delicious but not perfect. My chimichanga with fajita shrimp had large chunks of green pepper in it. I wish I'd known because I would have ordered something different. There were plenty of shrimp inside the chimichanga which almost made up for the green pepper. Why can't places use RIPE peppers: the red bell peppers. Sweeter taste and easier to stomach. At least the green pepper was cooked or I would have sent it back. The queso blanco that covered the chimichanga was amazingly delicious. Grilled shrimp with cheese on it? I never expected to enjoy it so much. The rice is okay but tastes like it's seasoned with a packet from the store. The refried beans were tasty but I tasted animal fat so they're not vegetarian friendly. Shrimp are fat free and they wouldn't have used them to make beans. Their chips are standard but better warm. The salsa is mostly runny with minimal chunks. The reducer cap was missing from the bottle of Tapatio on the table and I accidentally filled my salsa cup with hot sauce. I got an empty cup to start over. Service: at more than one point one of the managers (I think that's who she was) got drinks for different tables because the wait staff were chit-chatting instead of working. I guess it was break time for everyone at the same time. The manager didn't seem very pleased after she saw me look at the group of 4 standing there not paying attention to their duties. I can only give an honest review of any place I've been to. I don't look for things to point out where they could have done better. I observe things in their usual state and share them accordingly. They apparently have another location in Waterville, OH. I wonder if the wait staff all go on break at the same time. Just kidding. The teenage wait staff were glued to their phones while the manager had to cover for them.

All I know is that after one lunch here this is going to be a place I come back to for the rest of my life despite it being a 2-hour drive for me. I am vegan and have never really experienced a Mexican restaurant that gives you that traditional feel while still having plenty of non-traditional options to eat. Rightfully so as well since I know many locations and recipes use animal products and their beans and rice - And that's how they've done it for a long time! I was so pleasantly surprised when looking at restaurants in the area to stumble across Cocina de Carlos. We went on a Friday afternoon and we're set immediately. I ordered the vegano combo and it was incredible. The beans and rice were probably the best I've ever had at any restaurant. The avocado was fresh, the vegan queso was out of this world, the salsa and chips that come for free before your meal were even better. After two margaritas and a plate full of INCREDIBLE food, I left a very happy woman.

Amazing authentic Mexican Food! They have a buffet. Most people love it. I don't care for most buffets. I think their buffet is put together fast. I found it very greasy. I think it's better to order your meal and enjoy it-- it takes longer but tastes so much better. The Pineapple Don Charly* Tarasco style is my favorite!!! Their Salsa, Bean and cheese dip, Shrimp tacos, fish tacos, and Quesadilla, are good, as well! Note: They don't want you to take their Salsa home-- the open bottle of salsa at your table, even after you used it! In my opinion, they want you to buy it. Which, I don't have a problem buying it when I order my food to go. I don't like to waste food, and per the food code rules, they have to throw it away once you are done touching it, anyways. I find it very weird that they only want to give you one Very Very tiny salad dressing size plastic cup to take your unused Salas in. Why? Are they reusing it??

I have eaten at the Perrysburg location before and had a moderately above average experience, today on the other hand was honestly an embarrassment to the service industry. I have spent plenty of time working in restaurants throughout my life and would never have allowed what happened today anywhere I worked.

Our food took an hour (after waiting more than 30 minutes to order) - 3 FOH staff, 8-9 tables - but my wife's food seemed to not fit in the waiter's hands, so he said he would be right back with hers. He then proceeded to disappear to split tips with the other waiter, while the hostess bused tables and my wife and I watched food pile up to die in the window. The hostess walked by the food piling up in the window at least 6 or 7 times and no one in the kitchen insisted the food be taken to the tables. After 15 minutes the other waiter reappeared to consolidate his bills at the register with the hostess. I went to the hostess station and asked that my wife be served, and proceeded to watch the waiter finish his task of counting his tips and then wander by the kitchen (ignoring the other 6-7 plates sitting there - all of which had been sitting there for at least 10-15 minutes by that time) only to walk away, empty handed.

Our original waiter then reappeared to ask what it was that I needed, missing the obvious empty place in front of my wife. When I told him she was still waiting for her food, he returned with a random plate of food and put it in front of her - incidentally, I assume he subsequently served the same plate to the person that ordered it. I asked him to put my wife's food in a box, which he couldn't be bothered with and simply brought an empty box - fair enough.

As she as putting the luke warm food into the box, I noticed the waiter walking from the kitchen with a plate of food and having to come back for something before heading out again, making it so we were walking out at the same time. The plate of food, ended up on an empty table on the patio (while the rest of the plates remained in the window), the empty table was obviously where he break was to take place. So, this man took his food from the window to prepare for his break before serving the last 2 tables to get their food...which had been sitting in the window for at least 20 minutes.

All in all, I was there for 2 hours and couldn't even finish my food because I was so annoyed. I didn't even mention that my order was inaccurate, because well...what does it matter? These are very fundamental breakdowns to see. Having worked many years in the industry, my wife and I were disappointed to witness that level of disorganization and lack of pride in the restaurant. The worst $42 I've spent in a while. No, they did not offer to comp the...

If I could rate zero, I would. My boyfriend and I arrived at 5pm on July 27th, they weren’t busy, but a man was up front attempting to place a Togo order. He was looking over the menu and was not ready, the host did not acknowledge us and continued to ‘assist’ the other customer. About three minutes later the man is finally ready to order and places it. As we were waiting there were three servers standing at the back of the restaurant making eye contact with us, showing that they saw we were there, and then continued to talk and play fight. So after waiting for five minutes, it is finally our turn to be taken care of. As we walk up to the host stand, a server walks in and starts talking to the host, the host says hi to us and then continued his conversation. They’re talking about sections and where everyone is for the night. After two minutes of just standing there while they are ignoring us and continuing their conversation, the host looks up and seemed to remember that we are there and takes us to a table. He doesn’t make any conversation on the way to the table, and is probably 8ft ahead of us. He proceeded to sit us at a dirty table and then walked away. He came back with chips and salsa and realized the table was dirty and asked us rudely “can you guys move to that table, this one is dirty”? So we move, and we’re looking over the menu, figuring out what we want to drink and eat. Three minutes passed and we still haven’t been greeted. We’ve seen four servers walk past our table and go into the side station. At the fourth minute another table gets sat behind us, and they are greeted immediately. They received their drinks immediately and got a food order. At this point we were already waiting at the table for six minutes, and waited upfront for seven minutes. Very disappointed given the vast amount of wonderful reviews and was expecting to receive the same treatment; unfortunately that was...
