Awwwwful experiences every time we have gotten delivery or take out there. They ALWAYS messed our orders up. We thought it was just because of delivery and gave the benefit of the doubt. But when you would call them to tell them how they messed it up, they wouldn't even try to correct it or give you money back or anything. Well fast forward to after the restrictions are being lifted and we go out to eat. We wanted to try Tekela by eating at the actual restaurant. First of all, the ambiance is non-existent. The first thing you see when you walk in there is a giant wall. And the hostess has to do so many things, they are barely ever at the stand so you have to wait awhile until they can attend to you. Then it took us like 20 minutes to get waters!!! They never cleaned used dishes off our table, not once. They brought our queso out super late after the chips and salsa and so when we got it there were no more chips to eat it with and I asked for more and they forgot. Then they messed our dinner order up so they tried to redo it, and it took at least 35 minutes for our food to come out. It took so long that we just told them to bring us the check and put our meals in a to go box Bc our kids were already done eating and getting fussy. It costs a whopping $65 for nothing! We had to go home and eat our food. The order was STILL WRONG! The fajitas were completely unseasoned. The rice was greasy. They forgot the guacamole that was supposed to come with my husband's meal. They even gave him the wrong fajitas! He ate it anyway Bc at this point it was all a major loss. I've never heard a waitress say sorry more times! Every single time our waitress interacted with us, she had to apologize for something. For the wait, for forgetting waters, for messed up food, for all kinds of things. If your staff has to apologize that often for stuff, that's just terrible and it means your establishment sucks. I never see any managers there. I don't even know if there is one. Who even owns this place?! They cut major corners here. Do not waste your money or time. We won't be eating...
Read moreLast Friday we walked in at 9pm, we knew they closed at 1030pm so figured that was plenty of time before they closed. When we got seated, the table was dirty and the back of the booth had liquid on it (whether they sprayed it and didn't wipe it or someone spilled something on it, I don't know what it was), I told them it was dirty and the hostess apologized and said she didn't look at the table. Our waitress then took us to another table but it was dirty so she sat us at the next table. When we sat down I noticed spots on the table and I was going to say something but my husband was annoyed (at me and my reaction of a dirty table) so I just sat down. At this time I'm already annoyed and was ready to wait in the car before we even ordered, but for my family I sat there and waited. The appetizers came out and we ordered our food. I ordered my son a kids bean and cheese burrito add beef, and asked if they could do that and it would a dollar extra, she said yeah she'll just put in for a chicken burrito sub beef. When it came out it was not a kids meal and was smothered in queso, my son is not a picky eater, thankfully, so I did not complain. Then while eating a gentleman in a red polo and black mask came to our table and asked how we were doing. He was very nice and even engaged our children about school. When he left my 7 year old asked who he was and my husband said he was a manager, but he had nothing on to represent the restaurant. As we were finishing our food it looked like they were cleaning every table as if they were not cleaned yet, I realize they may have been sanitizing but the floors were also dirty. This was our first time going out to eat since we were first quarantined in March and I am not looking forward to going out...
Read moreWe frequent Te'kela because of the happy hour. From 3 - 5:30, all appetizers and drinks are 1/2 off. I love the Mexican Street Corn nachos, and the queso is very delicious. Now, the reason for not having all stars? The service. Not always is it bad, but most of the time, these kids can't seem to be bothered. A while back, we saw kids sitting in the bar area during the day, so we just assumed kids could sit in there during the day. Well, the waitress must not have wanted another table because she didn't even say hello she caught a glimpse of my, then 9 year old, and rudely told us kids could not sit in the bar area. Ok. We moved to the front area and was told they could not sit a group over 4. We had 6 that day. We left and went somewhere else. Going again but not trying to sit in the bar area, we saw kids. 🤷♀️ A few weeks later, we arrived at about 4:45. The hostess told us there were no tables available. The guy behind her, not sure of his position, said, "What about table (enter number) that just got cleaned?" This ensued the dirtiest look I've ever seen anyone give to another person. Of course, we were VERY uncomfortable, almost enough to make us leave. We followed the guy to our table and it was very clear at 4:45 they were not busy at all. So, confused, we noticed our waitress was whispering a lot with the hostess and we were treated as such. Why am I doing all this complaining in a review? Well, because although we love the food, I just want people to know what they're getting into. When teenagers are hired, you get...
