I was so excited for Wonder to come to a location 2 blocks away from me, but I’m stunned at how bad my first experience was.
They let me order on the app until 10:30pm. I arrive at 10:35pm to pick up stuff I ordered at 10:12pm. The door is locked.
I knock but it takes a minute for someone to come. I told them about my order, and it seems like they just didn’t make it. Not sure, he was specifically vague with me. It took 5-10 mins but he brought the food out.
The food was the worst part though. The drunken noodles was basically a soup AND USED THE WRONG NOODLES. It was like a linguine instead of the wide ones. Odd and bad mistake.
The kids Mac and cheese was a worse (much worse) version of Wawa’s.
Charred broccolini was my favorite item, but still wasn’t great. Pretty soggy.
Wonton soup? They didn’t have the soup part of it. I got 5 dumplings in a cup.
Quite disappointing because I was so excited about this place. But I kept thinking can a place which is essentially one kitchen with a million items no matter how they brand it…can the food really be that good? Well apparently not, on the items I tried at least. The four items I described also came to around $44, which didn’t seem cheap at the time and certainly doesn’t now.
PS - Customer service told me on the phone they’re supposed to be open till 11:30pm, so not sure why the door was locked at 10:30pm and they were mopping the floors. I have to note customer service gave me a refund on part of the orders due to the wait when I got there and the fact they were closing early (I didn’t even get to tell them about the no soup or wrong noodles)
Also—the promo codes didn’t work as a first time user. I tried many of them including one I got in the mail. Just gave up. This company is seriously flawed and can only hope they get better for its own...
Read moreI got two of the Detroit style pizzas. the taco pizza and the veggie. The taco was solid. It have nice depth of flavor and the toppings worked well together. The veggie pizza gave me serious Pizza Hut pan pizza veggie lovers vibes. I swear it tasted identical. It was quite bland and I would not get it again. Also, per my picture below I bit into an olive pit. Needless to say that’s very concerning and could have caused serious harm to my child if she had taken that bite. Overall, the food here is very average and the price is too high so the value is not there.
The Wonder app is very easy to use and makes ordering a breeze so that’s a big plus. Also, the food is prepared very quickly in comparison to other restaurants. But that’s the name of the game for this place. If they were peddling average food with long wait times then they would cease to exist. At least if they can make ordering easy and prepare the food quickly perhaps they can fool some people into thinking it’s a good option. There are much better local options for each “restaurant” that wonder had to offer but I suppose the all in one concept can be appealing if you are okay with food that...
Read moreMy friends and I all took advantage of their opening offerings. All of us were deeply disappointed. The food was bland, poorly prepared (not according to instructions), lacked appropriate servings of toppings, and pretty unhealthy. Overall, not worth it!
One friend ordered a poke salad with tuna and shrimp. She received ONE piece of shrimp and the bed of the salad had only seven springs of whatever the salad base was, as opposed to it being “filled to the top” as per the instructions on the label.
Another friend ordered the drunken noodles from the Thai spot. These were AWFUL. There were absolutely zero vegetables in this dish! It was chicken and thick pasta cooked al dente. Definitely nothing Thai about this dish!
Lastly, I got a brisket burrito bowl, which was half rice, 4 pieces of meat, 5 ears of corn, etc. The chefs were SO stingy with the toppings I selected and yet happy to fill the bowl almost to the top with rice. It was dry and pathetic.
So, I won’t be coming back to this ghost kitchen. We gave them plenty of money and many opportunities to make at least one dish right, but they...
