D'Angelo's Ristorante Italiano — Restaurant in Philadelphia

Very nice Italian restaurant in an urban setting. I went there to attend a family reunion dinner. We had a reservation for 38 people. We were seated promptly, and enough servers were assigned to our party. Our service was prompt, friendly and efficient. The servers were attentive enough so that we never felt neglected, but they were not overly obtrusive.

The kitchen staff must have been equally well organized because our orders were delivered in a timely way. The portions were generous but not excessive, and everyone praised the taste of their meal.

I had a D'Angelo signature salad. It was excellent. They didn't have eggplant parmesan on the menu, but that's what I wanted, and they made it for me. It was outstanding.

The prices were reasonable, and the decor was very nice. The only reason I gave four stars instead of five was that parking is very difficult in that neighborhood, I needed to park three blocks away, and most of the seating is on the second or third floor, and they don't have an elevator.

Chef Ramsey help!!!! I don’t who is given this restaurant anything other than 2. Food was bad, carpet filthy, server nice but unkempt. Two pieces of veal I could not chew. The bolognese was made with cream. I’ve never seen creamy bolognese. My son couldn’t eat more than 3 bites. The sausage app was raw. The bread bland and not good.

I can’t imagine how anyone thinks this is a good place. What’s worse Parc is across the square worst restaurant choice I made all year… ugh. So many other restaurants.. Weird stuff: So let’s start. Upon entry we were greeted by an over friendly host who was a bit charming. Wanted t grab a drink at the bar but was told we could get a drink if we sat down… weird… when i went up to the bar to…the bartender said there were no seats available and I should sit at my table if I wanted a drink. 6 seats were open but he said reserved. I guess your not allowed to stand either. After the horrible dinner coming back down to the bar the owner/ host was a one man guitar band.walking around singing to people. Bad food/filthy carpet/strange atmosphere .., place...

We stopped in on a Saturday night unexpectedly. The host was very gracious and clearly the owner of the place. We sat at the bar and had a drink with the somewhat surly bartender, Thinking we'd have a martini or some specialty drink but he advised that this was not that kind of place. Looking around, it seemed like a very casual friendly local crowd hung there. We were escorted upstairs for dinner and seated promptly. Menu had a lot of familiar Italian items. We ordered the bolognese and the chicken marsala. I think I would only give each of these maybe a 2 star --The bolognese sauce was very different-it's not traditional for so much sauce in the dish. This had more sauce than meat. The marsala was a little better but had a strange flavor in it that I couldn't identify. So, All in all only Ok.

the restaurant itself gets 3 stars just because the owner was so gracious. He came and sat at the table and chatted with us for a few moments just getting to know the people that are in his place. Not sure this would warrant a second visit, but it was an...
