I recently stopped by District Gyro on Cottman Ave in Philly, right across from Ross, and let me tell you, it was an absolute game-changer for takeout!

This spot is a hidden gem that’s now my go-to whenever I’m craving something fresh, flavorful, and fast. As soon as I walked up, the vibe was welcoming, and the smell of sizzling meats had my mouth watering. I went for the gyro platter with chicken, and it was hands-down one of the best I’ve ever had. The chicken was juicy and perfectly seasoned, served over a bed of fragrant, spiced rice with crisp lettuce, ripe tomatoes, and warm pita slices on the side. That white sauce they drizzle on top? Pure magic—I’m convinced their “secret sauce” is what makes every bite so addictive. It’s messy in the best way possible, and I’d order it again in a heartbeat. What I love most is how customizable everything is. You can bring your own pizza or even your favorite chips, and they’ll load them up with whatever you’re craving—chicken, lamb, steak, you name it. So the food was pretty good. Great flavors on the meat. The hot sauce seems like your classic storebought, there wasn't anything special there. The pita was also storebought. It took like 4 times for them to get their order right. I don't know why they put gyro on the menu board if they don't know how to recognize it. I said it two different ways multiple times but they couldn't get it. Two other people came by to order after me while I was waiting and they repeated back the wrong order both times. Probably best to order online and they can see the order. While the food may be good, I didn't think it was anything...

Tried this place out for the first time today. The two men working the place were very nice and accommodating. They asked if I wanted hot sauce and gave me some in a container on the side. The food was prepared well and wrapped nicely for the trip home. Also, the interior of the place was clean. As for the food, it was delicious. For the money it was a fairly big gyro. The meat is cubed and not sliced which was different but not bad at all. I would definitely go back to this...
