First I want to say the food, service, and the general look of the store is much much nicer than what was here before. The food was good, I like everything here!
But unfortunately the prices on the menu do not match what I was charged. I ordered 2 onion ring smash burgers ,2 diet cokes & 1 order of fries. Listed on the menu it should cost pre tax $39.50 and was charged $48 pre tax and fees. The onion ring smash burger on the menu says $14 but was charged $17.75 and the Diet Coke was 3.50 listed on the menu as $3, though the guy at the pos rang me up for 2 brisk iced teas. I was in a hurry and didn’t notice until I got home and looked the receipt. But a $8.50 overcharge than listed is concerning. I will be back because this area needs a nice pizza place but I really hope it...
Read moreI moved to Philly 7 years ago and have been waiting for a slice shop like Puglia ever since.
The shop has a classic NY/NJ vibe with tons of great pies on display, including American-style pizzas and Roman style pizza di tavola. They use real mozzarella and parmigiano, which comes through in every bite.
It’s family-run and everyone working is extremely kind - you can tell how much they care by the amount of love put into their pies and the beautiful planters that they’ve added to brighten up 9th street.
This is the type of business I’m proud to welcome to the...
Read moreI will keep it short. I grew up in Scranton surrounded by legendary pizza shops from Pittston, up the line to Old Forge and into Dunmore's Bunker Hill. Memory being selective, I have sought in vain the thin crispy crust pie with just the right combination of tasty tomato and cheese topping, hot and aromatic. I will always ask for extra oregano ... there can never be enough oregano. And I wandered into Puglia's today. The smells, energy, excitement, the warm greetings felt welcoming. And the pizza did not disappoint. Memories of Buona's, the M&K, and the long-gone Marciano's in the Valley were rekindled. Puglia's can plan to see me soon and often to try the many other varieties. Today's news flash? We've got a new pizza shop on 9th Street. And...
