I am only giving this place 1 star because the dresses on the site were beautiful and the booking process was relatively easy. I booked a bridal appointment and i was scheduled for 3pm.I confirmed my appointment with an associate twice. As you can see the location is downtown and parking in center city is practically impossible. I left my house in northeast philadelphia and arrived in center city 10 minutes before 3pm. I drove around for 25 minutes looking for parking before i just decided to park in a pay garage. At 3:15pm, the same associate texted me and proceeded to say" Hi, your appointment was at 3pm today, so we'll go ahead and cancel you appointment, you are welcome to reschedule!" I texted her back immediately " I was looking for paring for 25 minutes and i am walking down the street". I did not receive a text or call back. As myself, mom and grandmother walked 5 minutes to the location, we are greeted by a closed signed on the door. I agree i am partially responsible for being late even though it was due to parking. But it seems very suspicious to me that they closed 7 minutes after i was sent that text. I also believe it was inconsiderate to not call or text about my eta at anytime before my that 3:15pm text. After i texted the associate about my disappointment with this unprofessional encounter, they proceeded to place blame on me entirely in what seem to be a sarcastic tone. I responded by explaining due to this unprofessional encounter i would not be rescheduling an appointment with them and i would be leaving a review about this unacceptable encounter. They did call me after i responded with that but to be honest it was too late, first impressions are everything to me. Just completely UNPROFESSIONAL! I have visited other bridal shops since then and i have been treated with the utmost respect like a...
Read moreI purchased a wedding dress from the Sample Rack while visiting my family in Philadelphia approximately 2 months ago. The saleswoman was very nice and helpful in pulling dresses that I described and I ultimately left the store that day having purchased what I thought would be my dream dress. The dress I took home was obviously sampling sizing (I'm a US women's size 6), however I was reassured OVER AND OVER AGAIN by the sales associate that the alterations would be easy to fix to achieve the look I so hoped for. However, now having gone to many alteration appointments, it is beyond clear that this dress was never going to fit as I was promised in your store. The bust is GIGANTIC and unable to be reduced due to the design of the dress. Additionally, in appropriate lighting (this store is DARK), it is beyond evident that the dress has many flaws, including stains and holes in the mesh backing, which were not brought to my attention during our shopping experience and cannot be fixed due to the delicate nature of the material. I ultimately decided to purchase a brand new dress to try and achieve the look I was so vehemently promised I could achieve by your store. I would love to further this conversation over the phone to discuss how to appropriately remedy this situation.
Just for reference I'm adding to the bottom of my review since it does not give me the opportunity to reply the store's comment. As far as describing this as blackmail (??), I did reach out via email and have yet to receive a response. I'm happy to change my review if my feelings about my experience were to change, however your response certainly does not help. I just want people to know that you actually cannot alter dresses as your associates describe, or at least what was described to me. If you'd like to speak further, feel free to send me...
Read moreThis was by far my worst bridal shop experience and only bridal shop I visited that wasn't completely accommodating and friendly. I made an appointment when my maid of honor, who lived out of state, was going to be in town so we could experience dress shopping together. However, this shop wasn't near the others we had scheduled, so I wanted to come in beforehand and made another appointment to look and make sure there were things I liked. I contacted the shop let them know it was the same person. It took a week for them to respond to say they don't like to do this since there' only one of each dress--this was the night before my appointment. I responded that I was prepared to buy a dress if I found it the first visit, and since it wasn't clear that they cancelled the appointment and I couldn't reach them, I went. I felt extremely unwelcome. The salesperson encouraged me to leave and basically said "oh you were supposed to understand that you weren't supposed to come but I guess I can pull a few dresses." I proceeded to try on 3 dresses that didn't really fit what I wanted and didn't get any encouragement or feedback.
I cancelled the appointment with my friend, but I really wanted a sample dress, and there aren't many options around here, so I tried for another appointment a few weeks later. At that booking, there was a $25 charge to have an appointment! It was nonrefundable but could go to the cost of the dress if you got one there. I understand charging no shows, but it is just an abuse of wedding industry power to charge just to have an appointment on a Tuesday afternoon. No other shops (I went to at least a dozen) did this, so I cancelled and never went back. It turns out there are plenty of places in the Philly region that have samples, even if it's not in their name, and will treat brides...
