Rita's Italian Ice & Frozen Custard — Restaurant in Philadelphia

I am writing this review in hopes that the owners will see and reach out. I had called a week before (once) to ask about bulk pricing for a school fundraiser and was told the owners are on vacation until today. Today, I called back, and a different person (sounded like a young woman) answered the phone and proceeded to berate me that I had called numerous times asking for free water ice. I tried to calmly explain to her that she might be confusing me for someone else or another school. She instead insisted I was whoever she was talking about asking for free water ice. I again asked if I could speak to the owners or inquire about bulk pricing, and she refused to service me and told me to look down the street for water ice.

Edit* It turns out, this wasn’t even the location I called last week. This one’s on the west end of South St. I called the one on the east end and spoke with someone respectfully.

Customer representative on the phone: I’m sorry you were annoyed with whomever was calling you repeatedly, but here’s some advice. When a potential client, inquiry or school phones your owner’s business, take down a name, number and school name. That way, you can know for sure who is calling rather than profiling them. But even if a school representative was asking for free water ice, don’t speak to them as if they were a beggar. Your teachers and schools hustle to get you the best they can whether it’s a school that can afford to buy water ice or not. The way you talk to clients reflects on the business, and this Rita’s just told a public school (trying to buy bulk) to look down the street...

The 2124 South Street location has twice had the worst customer service during the day. Most recently: two people working, both in the back. One came out and couldn’t seem to deal with my order for one mixed twist and one mango gelati. Called the other person out, who came out and scolded her coworker for making her come out, and then got my order wrong and yelled at the coworker.
