I cannot recommend this place enough. When we walked in we were greeted by the most sweet staff I have ever encountered. They helped carry in our stroller and gave us a table to spread out. We had our two month old baby who was walked around by the staff (not sure if he was the chef or owner or an employee) and kept happy while my husband and I looked over the menu. We were introduced to the owner who said her nephew worked there. It seemed like an entire family affair. I unfortunately can't have dairy and almost nothing on the menu contained dairy which was amazing! The food was so so yummy and the $55 tasting menu was a great value. Make sure to get the red beans side, my husband and I ordered a second. Also, who doesn't love a BYOB?! I've lived nearby for a while and am SO HAPPY to see high end, well priced, unique food in the neighborhood! I love Sidecar, Ten Stone, and Dock Street but we were in need of variety and this is it! (Illata was also a great addition) Chateau Rouge is helping Graduate Hospital and is doing so in such a neighborly way.

Yeah, I've got a new place I can't live without smdh. First off, the decor is tasteful, authentic and vibrant. There's items there that I have in my own home that add to the ambiance, and the music inside is fantastic while the outdoor seating in the back is more serene than you ever thought South Street could be. To make things simple, we got the 4 course dinner each: I went with the pastelles, the branzino, the rice with peanut sauce and the chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream to finish it. The Mrs had the wings, the lamb/beef/chicken brochette with mashed sweet potatoes and banana flambeee for dessert. I haven't been this impressed by restaurant I've never been to in a LONG time. Found them randomly on Google and I hope to God you find it to so you can enjoy this place as much as I do. A+ Establishment!!

Gorgeous restaurant! The food was so delicious our server was incredibly warm and knowledgeable about the best food pairings and flavor combinations. They have a variety of meat and vegetarian options available. I was genuinely blown away by the quality of the meals. It is BYOB but they have some inviting mocktails on the menu as well. The suya wings and plantains were some of the best appetizers I've had in a while. Also highly recommend the yassa Chicken. Incredible addition to South Street's food scene.

We dined at Chateau Rouge early on a Friday evening with our 1-year old. First of all, the entire staff couldn't have been friendlier. Our server helped us carry our stroller into the restaurant and was attentive throughout the meal. The chef even popped out of the kitchen a couple times during the meal to check in with us and entertain our daughter. As previous reviewers have said, it really did feel like we were guests in a (delicious and well-decorated) family home.

The restaurant is intimate and has an awesome ambiance with exposed brick walls on one side and lots of interesting art throughout. The soundtrack was also great -- mostly a mixture of hip hop and afrobeats.

Most importantly, the food blew us away. The tuna pastels were really tasty, the wings had a great spice to them, the yassa chicken was super tender, and the brochettes were some of the most flavorful meat I've ever tasted. And our daughter couldn't get enough of the mashed sweet potatoes and plantains.

Chateau Rouge is an outstanding addition to the neighborhood and I encourage everybody in the area to check it out and add it to their rotation. We'll...

We got scammed and had an incredibly upsetting experience working with Jeanette at Chateau Rouge. We were hired to build their website under a simple, clear agreement: 50% upfront and 50% upon completion. We delivered the entire website — on time and with care — and then she completely disappeared.

No response to our calls or messages. No respect for the agreement. No payment. Just silence. Months went by, and instead of doing the right thing, she locked us out of the website we built — and never paid us the second half.

What hurts the most is that we genuinely believed Jeanette was respectful, professional, and building something special. My team and I put our hearts into this project thinking we were supporting a fellow small business with real purpose. But instead, we were scammed. Straight up.

We’ve worked with dozens of business owners and have never experienced anything like this. It’s beyond disappointing — it’s disheartening. We wouldn’t wish this experience on anyone, and we hope no other customer or service provider has to go through...
