Edit: I came back with my partner just to get drinks for our morning walk. I got a cold brew which was reasonably priced and tasted fine, somewhere around $4, and my partner got a matcha that was awful - needed less syrup, more matcha, more ice. It tasted like a marshmallow- not in a good way. Overall it was a bad experience and we won’t be going back.
Original: I only got a bagel sandwich here (sausage egg and cheese) and it was only okay. In all fairness, I usually get them on blueberry or everything bagels and they had run out of those and only had plain (I can just before close). Eating a bagel sandwich with a plane bagel is probably the best way to judge one for flavor but I’ve only done it like twice. What I found here is little to no balance in the ingredients: The cheese was all texture and no taste, it added nothing to the sandwich (a good sharp tasting cheddar would have gone a long way). The eggs were bland enough that I forgot they were there. The sausage was alright, maybe a bit too peppery but I bet it would have been much better if it wasn’t the only source of flavor. And I don’t think I can complain about the plain bagel, had good texture.
I might come back to try the bacon on an everything or blueberry if they have it, but I might...
Read moreGood coffee and a quaint atmosphere in a very walkable neighborhood. Small but nice menu and the prices are more reasonable than expected from a boutique coffee shop. They offer a few sandwiches and panini as well as pastries in addition to their nice choices of coffee.
Inside the shop are a few tables for sitting and eating and some antique but comfortable couches for sitting and enjoying your coffee. Its tight but not cramped and the staff is friendly.
The neighborhood is filled with little cafes and shops and the sidewalks are always full of people coming and going from any number of activities. Don't expect to find street parking as this is a highly residential area. Be aware that the streets here have different rules for folks with resident parking stickers so pay attention if you are lucky enough to find a spot. If you are within walking distance, the surrounding area is a pleasant walk and well worth the trip.
Four stars for good coffee, good food but just not the amazing experience that force stars should be...
Read moreMy girlfriend lives very close to here and I walked in thinking I could grab a quick breakfast. I walked out of here before I even purchased anything. The prices are ridiculous! The counter server tried telling me that it was 7 dollars for a breakfast sandwich, and they don't even offer pork bacon! I even wanted to take off an ingredient and they wouldn't take any charge off... for that price you would at least expect a complimentary coffee or something. I decided to go across the street to Honey's and got 2 eggs on biscuits with gravy, PORK bacon, and breakfast potatoes all for $7.50, much more reasonable. I'm the manager at a restaurant that serves all organic and locally grown, and we are cheaper than this place! I you want to feel classy by paying double the price for a breakfast sandwich, have at it. I'm sure it's good seeing as how its quite hard to mess up eggs and bacon...I can't comment on the coffee because I wont buy anything there out...
