Hard to believe that I have to write this but here it goes. I ordered flat white & got a latte instead. When mentioned to *barista (who was busy watching football match playing out loud on giant screen in Spanish) he literally said (and I quote): “different city makes different flat white “ And I was just like standing there thinking that he’s joking. He wasn’t. So I ended up with very Milky beverage w light coffee flavor aka latte that is miles away from a flat white. Never again at this place.
Edited: After reading the response from the owner, I have to say this: Your lack of responsibility for subpar product and careless, extremely lame comment just confirms your business should be avoided by anyone who just wants a good coffee in a chilled place, with chilled music aka a coffee shop. And please..pulling the racist card?!? 🤦🏼♀️
Edited again w the response from the owner:
Hey lady... that guys is the owner. This is me replying. Get a life. Go fill your empty life with other things other then chasing around and leaving reviews like they matter. They dont matter. You dont matter. Flat white originated in Australia which is the reason why I asked you where are you from. There they are 8oz. Some shops in USA do 12oz because we use much stronger double shots (20g coffee to 2 oz espresso). Everything in USA is bigger. I heard your broken English, I am immigrant myself, go back where you came from if all you want to be a smartass . Stop pretending you know what you are talking about, you know nothing about the coffee. And the fact you outline I was watching football in Spanish makes you a racist. What does it matter what language it is. I am not even Spanish, I am from very similar place you are from...
Read moreQuality coffee is important, especially when buying a specialty cup in a small Roastery. I asked to try the only coffee that was brewed and was told they don't offer samples. What kind of gourmet coffee company is ever going to compete with Starbucks if they don't allow people to try their coffee in comparison?
owner replied and said "You are absolutely ridiculous. Drip coffee is 3$. Just buy it. Leaving a negative review because if this is atrocious. You should be ashamed of yourself." ok. i went to Starbucks and got a Komodo Dragon pour over for $2.85. delicious.
name-calling aside, your business has invested in signage, product, labor, licenses, insurance, and equipment with one goal - potential customer traffic to "win" repeat business. you entered into a sector that provides caffeine, a drug, delivered in a varied and delicious vehicle - coffee. Some people, including me, have to moderate how much caffeine we consume and want to have a quality cup as we get our fix. it's not unusual to ask for a sample. Most "gourmet roasteries" provide this and understand both aspects - caffeine and their investment to win loyal business. Your policy to not - and your response essentially means you "lose".
update: the owner edited the review with more name-calling "small business abuser". my guess is they'll offer samples in the future because even name-callers can take good advice. the .15 cents they charge more than Starbucks would cover the cost - unless they know the "drip" coffee will be...
Read moreI stumbled into Suprema Coffee at 8:29am this morning, my wife beater sticking to my sweaty skin after a Barry's class with my ex-girlfriend. I'm currently in the process of mounting one of the greatest comebacks of all time, oddly similar to the 2017 Superbowl when the Patriots were down 28-3. A lot of game left though. One possession at a time.
We entered the minimalist interior, and were met with deep house music that made me feel like I just popped an addy. I scanned the large menu intricately, acting as if I was going to get anything other than a black iced americano and a plain croissant. My homeostasis.
My ex got the "Honey Badger" which consisted of double espresso, vanilla, cinnamon, and almond milk. This is her FAVORITE coffee drink these days.
Coincidentally, the Honey Badger was my nickname in high school due to the fearless and tenacious nature I played with on the defensive end in JV basketball. Tony Allen was my idol.
Coffee was great and the croissant was middywap, but we sat outside and chatted for a half hour. Vibes were 10/10.
