Spruce Market — Local services in Philadelphia

I like this place a lot. Obv its not gonna be as cheap as a Trader Joes but its really convenient for smaller restocks between big grocery trips, and not more than any other small grocery. Plus they have a lot of asian staple ingredients that otherwise you’d probably have to head to Chinatown for, so its nice to have that in the Rittenhouse area. Got basic produce too, like onions, avocados, fruit, cucumbers, carrots, etc. I really wish they had herbs though. I also have found some other neat ingredients there, like a mango habenero cheese I havent yet found elsewhere. I’ve never had an issue with any of the produce or refrigerated items, and their condiment library is huge. I dont drink so can't comment on the alcohol. Also i just think the...

THIS PLACE IS NO GOOD! For months they have been having the garbage collection company distrubing the peace every day. between the hours of 12-4 am the garabge company comes and wakes up the neighboorhood with the noise. I have mentioned it to the owner many times and even called the city council. They have not made any efforts nor care to resolve. so as a result they get my 1 star. PLUS EVERYTHING IS $$$ Overpriced by about 3 bucks.

Do not buy food from here. This is the second time I’ve purchased a sealed item and found little bugs inside. The first was a box of poptarts - tiny bugs inside the sealed packages.
