I recently visited Enswell with my family, and I must say that the service we received was nothing short of abysmal. From the moment we were seated, it was clear that our presence was being overlooked and disregarded.
Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by the host, which gave us hope for a pleasant dining experience. However, that hope quickly diminished as we realized this initial friendliness did not extend beyond the entrance. Once seated, we waited and waited while other diners who arrived after us were promptly served drinks and appetizers.
The lack of attention and indifference shown towards our table was both frustrating and disheartening. We understand that every restaurant can get busy, but we seemed invisible to the staff. It became apparent that our family's needs were being overlooked, and the prejudice we encountered was palpable.
As a family of four, we were excited to enjoy a meal together and create lasting memories. However, due to the terrible service and feeling unwelcome, we decided to leave the restaurant. It was incredibly disappointing to have our evening disrupted by such blatant prejudice and negligence.
In addition to the unsatisfactory service, we could not experience the food at Enswell. While we cannot comment on the quality of the cuisine, we firmly believe that exceptional service is a vital aspect of the overall dining experience. Unfortunately, Enswell failed to deliver in this regard.
We sincerely hope that our feedback serves as an opportunity for improvement. It is essential for any establishment to treat all guests with fairness, respect, and prompt service, regardless of their background or appearance. Regrettably, our visit to Enswelldid does not align with these expectations.
We strongly advise potential diners to consider their options carefully before patronizing Enswell. In our experience, the service was severely lacking, leaving us with a deeply unpleasant and regrettable...
Read moreI was skeptical at first, but Enswell is quickly becoming my favorite upscale cocktail bar in the city! In terms of atmosphere, its commitment to a kind of 1920s art deco aesthetic is very unique, feeling both fancy and grand but at the same time approachable and cozy. I particularly love all of the various glassware for the cocktails that elevate the experience in a nice way.
And speaking of drinks, they are certainly the highlight of a visit! They are exceptionally varied and seasonal, with a blend of classic style cocktails and very adventurous and unique. This visit I enjoyed a riff on a Manhattan with saffron that was excellent and a chai "negroni" that blended fall baking spices into an inviting and unusual bitter and spiced drink. I also was very surprised and impressed by the "ants on a log" inspired cocktail my wife got with flavors of celery, peanut butter, and port. I didn't think it would have been possible to balance those flavors in a drink but they pulled it off.
We've also had great experiences with the bartenders every time we've been. They have been helpful, friendly, and very informative and knowledgeable about their menu and it has enhanced our visits. The only thing about Enswell I can't really comment much on is the food. It seems like it's primarily a cocktail bar at night that has recently started serving more small bites and a few entrees. Everything I have seen looks pretty good but it's also fairly pricey. All in all I think Enswell stands tall next to a lot of strong competition for a good cocktail bar and I definitely recommend...
Read moreWalking into Enswell feels like walking into the cafe of a palace that was designed by Riccardo Tisci. They nailed that boujee, yet not pretentious feel on the interior. It's warm and cozy, but I still feel classy af in here.
Sometimes you walk into a place like this and it just feels inauthentic, kind of like it's a movie set. Just no character. Not here.
Anyways, my nickname in high school was "plain croissant" because I love a plain croissant more than I love a drunk cigarette.
Much to my chagrin, they were out of plain croissants so I had to call an audible- BLUE 42, GREEN 80, OMAHA! OMAHA!- and went with the Za'atar Croissant as the lady began selling me on it like a prime Gordon Gekko.
A Za'atar croissant is literally just a plain croissant with Za'atar spices in it, and I love both of those things so this crossover inevitably blew me away.
When God closes the plain croissant door, he opens the Za'atar croissant window. GOD DID!
We sat at the bar as we just wanted pastries and lattes, but they do have a full lunch/drink menu as well. The attention to detail and artistry on these lattes was inspirational, as they had little flakes of lavender on top of my lavender latte. Music selection was great as well as I even shazam’d a few songs, but I gotta gatekeep those I'm sorry.
When I see my high school friends, I will need to inform them my new nickname is "Za'atar croissant."
THANK YOU ENSWELL I'LL BE BACK ASAP ROCKY!
