If you're on the hunt for a cozy spot that serves up mouthwatering pizza and delightful wine, look no further than Il Bosco Pizzeria in downtown Phoenix, AZ. Our recent visit left us thoroughly impressed, and I'm excited to share my experience with you.
First and foremost, let's talk about the service. From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted warmly and seated promptly. Despite the growing crowd, the staff remained attentive and ensured that we never felt rushed. It's evident that they take pride in providing top-notch service.
Now, onto the main event—the pizza. We ordered the Katarina, which turned into a tasty treat! Oh boy, was it delicious! The crust was perfectly crunchy, and each bite was bursting with flavor. We decided to add Kalamata olives to our pizza, and let me tell you, it was really a win! The combination of toppings was a true treat for the taste buds.
And let's not forget about the wine. We opted for the Montepulciano, and it did not disappoint. Smooth and flavorful, it complemented our meal beautifully. Having spent considerable time in Italy - the Tuscan wines are usually our favorite but this Abruzzo wine did not disappoint!
Il Bosco Pizzeria is truly a gem. Whether you're planning a romantic date night, a gathering with friends, or simply craving a fantastic pizza, this place has you covered. And here's the best part—the total price for our meal, including wine, came out to less than $25 per person, thanks to their fantastic Happy Hour deals. It's a steal! Il Bosco Pizzeria gets a well-deserved 5-star rating from me. Great food, excellent service, and unbeatable value—it's a winning combination. Do yourself a favor and make a reservation pronto. You...
Read moreCame here a couple of nights ago with my partner. Friendly service from our server Riley and cute patio. My main reasons for 4 stars are the prices and those ravioli. We started out with the fried ravioli because they sounded absolutely amazing. We were disappointed when the plate came out with only 5 ravioli that could each be eaten in a bite or two. They tasted like something you could get from Sonic for $2.99- felt like we were eating something that went straight from the freezer to microwave to table. Not worth $9.99. However, the Divina pizza came through. A 12'' pie with 6 slices, the Divina was topped with a couple of types of peppers, prosciutto, and caramelized onions. Very tasty and baked in a real pizza oven. The thin crust was crispy where it counted but still soft enough for those of you who like to fold their pizza. The size did leave us hungry though. As tasty as the pizza was, for the size, $17.99 did not make sense. I tried to reason that it was because of the high quality ingredients, but the prosciutto was used too sparingly for that to be reason enough. Not sure if I'd come back because of the pricing. The pizza was so good that I might have to check out some of their other ones though, and hope that the ravioli is the only thing that should be taken off the menu. Lactose intolerant beware: cheese doesn't usually do it for me but I thought I was giving birth shortly after...
Read moreIl Bosco(means "The Wood")is a new restaurant in the popular Roosevelt Row district. The premises is very attractive with a cute outdoor patio and large indoor seating area in what used to be a historic house and now fully renovated.
I was greeted by a very friendly and professional manager, Louisa, who seated me right away with the best table for viewing the live music duo of "The Savanna Bassett"(the music was great, by the way, and remember to tip good artists; there's not enough around).
Even though IB is already gaining quite the reputation for gourmet pizza, I was in the mood for something else and had fried ravioli, chop salad and meatballs in marinara sauce. The ravioli and meatballs were fantastic, best I've had in the last few years and the prices were $9 per item-much lower than most fine dining of this calibre. Service was superb and the Owner even made time to chat telling me his 1st place is in Scottsdale(it was the busiest restaurant on the street).
This was close to a flawless restaurant visit for me and I am still thinking about the great live music and meatballs, fried ravioli.
I rank Il Bosco 2021 top 10 best new restaurant in Arizona.
They achieve my highest recommendation for overall great food, service,...
