Writing this review as a warning to others to think twice before coming here.
My friends and I came here for the first time very excited to try it out. We had a reservation and were seated shortly after arriving. Our server immediately put off very weird vibes to us. The first issue that we faced was when one guest at our table stated that we would like a round of the mystery shots as our first drink. The server responded and confirmed “Okay 5 mystery shots for the table?” At that point we responded and said “No actually 4 - we have one person with us that is not drinking.” At this point her began to target the woman who was not drinking in our group. He began to say “There’s NO way you’re sober.” and “I can see your Asian glow.” At that point we responded pretty blankly “No actually she is 100% sober, she is allergic to alcohol.” He said okay and walked away. It was at that point that I was under the impression that we had placed an order for 4 mystery shots.
A few minutes went by and then the server came back to the table and said “So what can I get for you guys?” With genuine confusion I said, “Oh I thought we just put in an order for 4 mystery shots?” He aggressively responded and said, “No….I told you we were out of those…..” I was genuinely confused - immediately I was thinking “Why would he have tried to get our table 5 of the shots if they don’t even have them in the first place…”
Tbh at that time I attributed the confusion to the load music and that it was a miscommunication.
We went back to the menu and said we would pick out something else.
Moments later the server then returned to the table to state that we had to leave the restaurant due to being “too intoxicated and forgetting that we ordered shots twice.” Although at no point in time did we try to order any additional alcohol besides attempting to confirm the initial 4 shots we had placed an order for. He then proceeded to escort us out while continuing to target the woman that was sober in our group.
(I also would like to point out that YES we did have a couple drinks before arriving - but with a reservation for MIDNIGHT I don’t think it is unreasonable to expect that. And people were arriving at the bar to be seated that were far more intoxicated than us.)
When attempting to discuss the situation with management they unfortunately were dismissive and unhelpful.
You could chalk this situation up as a misunderstanding, but at the end of the day the server put off a vibe to us that he was discriminating against our table for invalid reasons.
And at the end of the day, I find it irresponsible and unacceptable to verbally attack a sober individual in a bar setting for not drinking alcohol.
I would implore the management to consider the employment of this server - as he was extremely rude, gaslighting, and discriminatory.

Read moreEasily the most try-hard, pretentious bar my friends and I have been to. Would be 2 stars for pros, but owner's behavior seals it.
Pros: •drinks tasted good •our server was good •super dark lighting (con for some) •very loud/good speakers (con for some) •some fun/clever features like butt wall/menu riddles
Cons: •may not serve you even if they are empty •whole bar screams pretentiousness •bathroom was disgusting and reeked •expensive •reservation system horrendous •drinks lazily made with no presentation •shoves their rules down your throat at every chance as if they're serving children •owner argues with & insults dissatisfied customers vs. apologizing or trying to remedy things •owner acts like pampered, karen-esque frat boy instead of business professional •pretends to be speakeasy without key speakeasy features. •low vision/loud music(if you hate these)
Experience: 4 of us walked in a year ago, and were told they were booked despite it being half empty and employees standing around. Annoying, but was willing to try again.
GF and i had a recent walk-in, and it was 80% empty, but we were still badgered about reservations. The hostess (who was just lounging on 1 of the 4 empty couches) said she had to go to the other room to "check availability". Are you kidding me? There were 7 patrons in the whole bar, and no one came after us. We then pay $15-$16 per drink, and get them 2 minutes later in small, standard water glasses without any garnishes or visible features/ingredients. If you charge $15-$18 drinks, there better be some presentation and/or visible ingredients. Drinks were tasty, and server was good, but they clearly try to be a speakeasy without actually spending the effort.
If you want to know what kind of place this is, look at the negative reviews and the owner's responses to them. Fully expect some juvenile, snarky response to this, but i won't be back there, or...
Read moreDON’T MAKE A RESERVATION! You would think having a reservation would be the move to make, it seems mutually beneficial, right? Wrong! When you put in your reservation you are charged $10 per person which says it will be applied to your tab, sounds good to me. Unfortunately it is not applied to your tab, they welcome you with “Welcome Shots” that seem complimentary, NOPE, that’s the $10 per person that you paid to reserve your table. They don’t even tell you that is what you get for your money, nor do they offer anything else. It’s stealing, it’s bad business, it’s lying & it is taking advantage of your customer. The manager came over when we were trying to close out which I thought that “hey, there’s a problem and they are going above and beyond to fix it and make a customer happy so they would finish the night well and potentially come back” NOPE, I was told that the money towards the “reservation” was for the Welcome Shot and not applied to the tab (which is what it says when you put in a reservation) was explained in the fine print in. How easily you could have just comped the shots that we didn’t ask for and applied it to the tab like you state on the reservation to make a customer happy and return, but now you get an upset customer, a bad review, and someone that will never come back. To whoever reads this review at Killer Whale, I expect that you’ll respond saying “we don’t want you to come back, you suck!” Or some hipster DGAF response, Don’t worry, I won’t be coming back. I don’t support bad business behaviors. But I do feel bad for the servers that get put in a bad position because of your practices, your managers that have to defend it & your customers that are...
