Visited on Sun morning, 16 May 2021, just after they opened for business at 7 a.m. and would like to give them 4 1/2 stars outta 5, but since you're unable to award that extra 1/2 star we'll have to settle for 4 outta 5. We were promptly seated and our server was right there to get our drink order. They were only offering their Breakfast Bar and advised us of this before we were seated, but that's what we went there for. Simply put, Shoney's offers an "all you can eat" breakfast bar that includes most everything you would want for breakfast. This particular bar was stocked with all these basics - scrambled eggs, sausage patties, sausage links, bacon, ham, pork chops, grits, homestyle potatoes, gravy, pancakes, french toast sticks, biscuits, and more. On the 2nd trip to the bar, I discovered some little individual western (spanish style) omelettes that were terrific and made me wish I'd noticed them on the 1st trip. Our server was very pleasant & kept our beverages filled the entire time we were there. Although more & more customers arrived during our stay, they had the tables adequately spaced so that you felt comfortable eating without someone piled right beside you. They also require customers to put on disposable gloves prior to handling the serving utensils on the food bar and of course you obtain a new clean plate and don fresh disposable gloves each time you return. If you're looking for fast, reasonably priced, comfort breakfast foods ... then you should give Shoney's a visit. Definitely recommended.

First off, food was delicious. We went for breakfast prior to dollywood and it was fantastic. That's not the point of the review though. The point is Tiasha. A little back story. I have 6 kids. 3 under 3 and the older of the three have autism. Let's just say, they can be destructive. We were able table of 9 and were certainly the type of table you'd lament having to deal with. The older ones are very behaved but they, like the adults, can't prevent the younger ones from making a mess. For example, an entire box of cereal decorated the table and floor. Syrup was sticking to everything and everyone. Mom's yelling, dad's (me) considering life choices and thinking about frolicking in the adjacent traffic. Anyways, you know what Tiasha does? She doesn't scoff, nor huff, nor get even the slightest bit upset. No. She goes and gets them all stuffed animals and politely asks to hold the baby when she reached out to her almost falling in the process. We certainly appreciated this fine waitress and her tip hopefully conveyed that but she honestly helped take a bad experience, and make it a positive one to start the day off with. Thank you Tiasha.

After reading some of the reviews on google, I was reluctant to try this place, but I am glad I did. The parking lot was pretty empty (7 cars not including the 3 we drove), but we still decided to continue. The free lollipops were great for the kids, and we were seated by a nice waiter fairly quick. We got our drinks and orders in within 8 minutes of sitting down, and most of our party went to the buffet (I decided not to because of the reviews and lack of foods I wanted). The only complaint I heard was the chili was bad, which turned out to be vegetable soup. The Alfredo I ordered was the right noodle/sauce/chicken ratio, and my only complaint was the chicken was a bit dry, but not too dry. Overall the food service and atmosphere were good, although I would recommend coming on one of the ‘good’ days where the food is fresh.

Our waitress was great, food was great but one of the older ladies that worked there seating people was rude! My daughter has anxiety/mental issues. It's not often we get her to go out and even to get her to eat, but today she wanted to go to shoneys. We have taken her to other Shoneys without any issues. Yes some people get uncomfortable and on this night someone did get uncomfortable and let the waitress know and they discreetly moved to another table. Did it hurt me and anger me, yes, but it was handled well but then that should have been the end of it but no, the older lady came up and asked with annoyance, if my daughter was ok, that she is making others uncomfortable. I looked around no one looked uncomfortable now. I explained she has mental issues but she causes no harm, she wants to stand and occasionally walk then she will come back to eat. She is 28 yrs old and as sweet as can be!!! All the other families talked to her and the kids smiled and waved at her, they were not bothered by her. The older lady was not satisfied and went to gossip to another worker when I saw this it upset me and I did my best not to cry, but the night was ruined. The other worker came over and with a nicer attitude tried to say the same thing that it is upsetting others but I said look around the one customer that was uncomfortable had moved and was fine, no one else had a problem. She was respectful but said we can take her meal to go when we are ready since she isn't done yet. We won't be coming...

Food that should be cold was warm. Roast beef was extremely pink and not tender as fully cooked roast beef should be. Poor variety. Waiter complained that he's 15 and stuck working there on a Saturday.

After reading the generic reply that's put on every negative review, I'd like to add additional information.

After mentioning we were unsatisfied with the quality of the food, we received an apology and were told that hopefully next time would be better. There will be no next time. You asked if we spoke to a manager? Based on just the amount of reviews posted since mine that state the same complaints as mine, perhaps it's time to look for a new manager as this one clearly isn't looking at these reviews or even looking at what is right on front of them at this location. What would speaking to a manager accomplish? Are they going to throw out everything on the buffet and have new items cooked? No. Would they perhaps offer not to charge us (especially since the only thing we finished were our drinks? Every plate of food was sat to the side after trying a bite.) I feel better writing a review to share my experiences and let other potential customers know what they may experience as well. We paid, we stated our unhappiness and we won't return.

Side note: We also experienced the issue of the price on the menu not...
