We have been looking forward to eating here after hearing the amazing reviews. We arrived at about 5:50p and were promptly greeted by the nicest hostess"Happy New Year, Welcome to Andrew's!" We were seated, haned 3 menus and were advised of the Happy Hour specials. She was exceptional!! Unfortunately our visit took an ubrupt nose dive as soon as our server came to take our order. We were asked what we would like to drink and if we were ready to order. I explained that it was our first time here and that we would need a minute to look at the menu. The server then asked if we would like something to drink. I ordered ice water with lemon and handed my husband the Happy Hour menu and asked him " Would you like to order a drink from the Happy Hour menu." Immediately our server said "you better hurry up". I was shocked at what i heard. I looked at my husband in disbelief, he ordere a Big German and the server walked away. I checked the menu, then my watch, then my phone just to make sure that we were not even close to the end of Happy Hour (2-7pm) In our section, off to the side there was only one couple. It was not busy. The server came back with our drinks and asked if we were ready to order. As I had mentioned, we had never been before so we order a variety of pizza: Dallas - Picasso, Philly Tavern - Kitchen sink, Chicago - cub w/ pepperoni. I asked the server what was included in the cub pizza, I was told " you know lots of stuff." I aksed if they could check because I wanted to add pepperoni if it was not included. After several minutes, the server confirmed my assumption by stating the pizza came with the ingredients listed. Perfec!, we made our order. The food came out surprisingly fast! My favorite is the tavern, his is the Dallas. The food is phenomenal, the Big German was fabulous, unfortunately our server made the experience less than pleasant. We had a sclice each and asked for to-go boxes and the check. I would really like to go back and try the New York as well as some of the pasta dishes. I completely understand that this is a pizza joint and not a steakhouse, but is it too much to ask that the servers are aware of what the menu items consist of and what time the specials are. $89 including tip for one 10" and two 14" pizzas and a beer. We are not from the area, so round trip it is over an hour and a half. I temper my expectations to the price of the menu items. IMO the level of service should be comparable...
Read moreSaturday evening, 09-16-23. I have been hearing about this place for weeks now on the radio, so I wanted to take the family and try it out(myself, wife, 3 boys-19,21,22). Very disappointed from the onset. It was not a busy evening at all for what I was expecting. 7 minutes at the host stand before we saw an employee. It did however give me the time to count empty tables and request one closer to the patio area and away from the main areas. The host seemed clueless and probably not the best candidate for a first impression on patrons walking through the door(it seemed/felt as if we were a bother) . Once seated, the host wandered off after 1 sentence "Your server should be over shortly" and 9 minutes came and went before our server approached the table. Reminder: not busy at all, at least 20% of tables empty. Service, shoddy at best. He was pretty clueless about the menu. Our best bet was to read the descriptions and hope that whomever put the menu together did it well. Food was hit and miss. The "so sweet, so spicy" tasted pretty good, the bland crust dropped it a notch. The "florentine di pollo" was excellent. We did roll with the stuffed crust on this one. Chicago style "Cub Classic" was a disappointment. Definitely not Chicago style. Crust was doughy and dry, very bland. Very little sauce, toppings very sparce considering how the description reads. Drinks, the big German and the stout on tap helped the evening. Upon requesting a to go box and the check, our server informed us that he would take our pizza back and box it up. 7 minutes later, he comes to grab the pizza and take it to the "back". Then drops the check off at the table. Roughly 10 minutes goes by and he comes by, grabs the check(paid with cash). Another 10 minutes goes by and he finally drops the boxed up pizza off at the table. It was a 2 hour experience, unfortunately. We may try it again(definitely would be pick up /to go).
Side note fir patrons: For a "pizza kichen", the interior/ambience is very odd.
Side note for the owner: Work on your copy and paste responses on your reviews, especially the ones...
Read more80 reviews on this place??? And I thought it wasn’t even open yet. Looks closed to me until you see the “Open” sign on the north end. It’s the dark tint on the windows that makes it look closed. And the patio needs some vibrance to garner attention.
Walked in and the place is huge inside. Not sure what this used to be. Or, what they are trying to be. It feels somewhat formal due to the black fixtures, but there are also giant TV’s mounted way up high and these Dollar Tree table decor pieces that scream bowling alley lounge.
Hostess was nice and the place was staffed up!! I saw maybe two, possibly three front of house managers and another back of house manager. There were at least 12 people working there, maybe more. I was there at 5:45, and there were three other tables besides me. Their overhead seems high, but something tells me this is a family business. Maybe someone looking to have something of his own for his family. Perhaps well off enough to know you hemorrhage money before something catches on like this. I can’t see a corporate business staffing 2 servers to every one table. I just see dollars going up in flames here. Maybe that is why they went with the Dollar Store table toppers.
My server was very pleasant and quick with my order and service. Nice job asking me questions and offering to explain the menu. Menu was great, just enough options not to overwhelm. Some items slightly high, and a few others about average compared to other similar concepts. Settled on the Chicken Parm and also ordered some wings. Wings were excellent and the Buffalo sauce was just the right amount of Red Hot and butter. They came out fast but they did not taste like cook-ups. The Chicken Parm was fine. Sauce had a good flavor and the Angel Hair was cooked Al Dente. The chicken was a bit too breaded and very thin. The breading fell off the chicken and was a bit on the soggy side. But a major plus for being trimmed well, not dry and perfect temp. Overall it was very good
I will definitely be back to try the pizza sometime soon. Hope they do...
