NO STARS. Stay away. Pack a brown bag. We decided to stop & eat in there, rather than other boardwalk places. We ordered 2 pies, 1 Plain and 1 Pepperoni, as well as drinks-we were 2 kids and 5 adults. The bill was over $85++ dollars, that was the first shocking part. Was it worth that price???- NOOOOO-- we'd all had much better, with pricing that was very low. Why they have a problem, and charge so much- is a mystery. They only offer pizza, drinks, and side salads- thankfully we didn't spring for salads. Nothing about Joey T's made their pricing worth it. We sat ourselves, indoor was pretty much empty and there were few to-go, slices & drink customers....yet...we cleaned our own table, got our own napkins, utensils, and pizza seasonings for our table. It took them quite a while to bring out our plain, when it did, we took our time to eat slowly, effort noted for the fact that it was a hot pizza (as it should be)the pepperoni pie, at some point, we were told that about 10 minutes it was coming to us...well over 30-40 minutes passed- no pie. In the meantime the inside had filled up and there were other customers losing their sh8t and rightfully , but of course not only did staff not adhere to listening to customer. Especially when they were right- but they argued back and pointed fingers at each other. I had to go complain about our pie that never came...after finger pointing again, they took one from front, for to go slices and brought it over. COLD. We won't go back, and our recommendation, eat off the the boardwalk You'll eat better and save money....Covid is still happening but too many business are going overboard with price raises and gouging us. In the end they'll lose their businesses rather than save them. In the meantime enjoying the summer has really been a summer of bad service and overpriced bad food, those people I've seen eating out of vehicles, etc- they've got the...
Read moreI typically do not write bad reviews but this one was definitely necessary. I went to Joey Tomatoes for the first time with my family. I ordered 5 slices of pizza 1 plain and 4 pepperoni. The person who took my order was a female who appear to be Hispanic. The lady sneezed in her hand and had the nerve to take up my food without sanitizing her hand when there was a bottle of hand sanitizer on the table next to her. She the place my change in my hand. I was so upset Infelt steam coming out of my head. I told the you lady that I did not want the food anymore because she sneezed in her hand. Apparently, the worker did not understand what I said so she called her colleague over a white younger looking gentleman to assist me. I explained the situation to him and he ignored my complaint and stated that there are no more pepperoni pizza left and that I had to take what was available. I then proceeded to look for the owner who happened to be Joey. I said excuse and I asked to speak with him and he shook his head no. He also ignored me. I spent $ 26.00 for my order so I was not going to walk out and loose out on my money. I end up speaking to another worker and I asked her to provide 5 new slices and I also asked that she serve me which she did. This was a horrible experience and it will be definitely dealt with. I just did not understand how the worker that it was all right to sneeze in her hand and give me my change and my food. She had no shame because she did not think that she did anything wrong. This is totally unacceptable whether there is COVID or not. Mr. Joey ensure that his employees wash and sanitize their hands regularly especially when serving food to the public unless he does...
Read more⭐ 1 STAR – IF I COULD GIVE ZERO, I WOULD.
There’s a reason Joey Tomatoes has thousands of customers walking past and only 240 reviews—because no one wants to waste another minute of their beach day talking about this bottom-of-the-barrel pizza trap.
I came in with my family of five, ready to spend $100 on what I thought would be some fresh boardwalk pizza and a few salads (four to be exact—TWO with chicken, TWO without). Instead, I got a hard lesson in what not to do in the hospitality industry.
I decided to order a whole pie because I didn’t want dried-up slices that sat under a heat lamp all day. That was my mistake. I asked politely—kindly, even—if my 9-year-old son could use the bathroom. The sign says “for customers only,” and guess what? I just dropped a Benjamin on this place, so I figured we were covered. The guy behind the counter (owner or manager, who knows) looked me dead in the face and said:
“No. The bar clientele destroys the bathroom.”
I clarified again—“It’s me and my child.” Still no. Like… really? That’s the level we’re at? I spend good money and get told to find a bush?
Let’s not even get into the quality of the food. It’s overpriced dough and cheese being slung to unsuspecting tourists who don’t know any better. This place survives off convenience and location, NOT quality or service.
Joey Tomatoes: where the food is meh, and the attitude is even worse. If you like spending money to be disrespected, this is your spot. Otherwise, there are at least 10 better places within...
