A few days ago I attended the tiki bar with a few friends. We had a wonderful afternoon and rented two Cabanas in which we spent over 600$ on. After a long day on the beach we decided to eat at the bar located right next to the sand. Since we had a large group of people with us we decided to move one table over right next to another. A server comes up to our table and yells, “uhm you just broke our table!” We looked at her clueless because we were unaware the tables were screwed into the floorboards. We look over and there is the piece on the floor near us of what was suppose to hold the table into the floor. The table had already been broken before we even moved it which was also confirmed by our server who was very sweet and told us not to worry because it was not our fault. Keep in mind a girl weighing 100lbs moved the table in the first place without struggle so clearly the table had previously been broken. The manager comes over along with maintenance and begins to yell at us telling us we were to pay for the damage of their table when in fact we were not the ones who had broken the table. The guy in maintenance began raising his voice and telling us to “Shut up” over and over when we could barely explain ourselves; not to mention the fact that we said we had rented the cabanas for the day- his words following that was “Yeah im sure you did.” Basically telling us we were lying. Everyone was very rude and created a big scene probably thinking we were drunk in which we were NOT and began practically cursing us out. Those who tried to speak up were then kicked out of the tiki bar along with our whole group of friends and escorted by very rude and disrespectful security. We did not do anything wrong here and were accused of breaking something which had already been broken. This review does not deserve any stars at all and the fact that the cops were called and security including the staff was extremely disrespectful towards us was 100% uncalled for. It was ridiculous to be accused of breaking something which we didn’t destroy in the first place. Keep in mind it was Tiki mondays and there were hundreds of people in the bar that afternoon dancing and drinking which is probably when someone had broken the table. We were then told to pay for our order which we never got to eat and ended up telling them to throw out. As we were escorted out of the tiki bar, a friend was arrested for trying to ask the name of the staff member who kept telling us to shut up. We were in disbelief of the chaos that just occurred. This was a terrible experience and someone needs to control this staff and security because the way we were spoken to as customers was unbelievable. Never again will we come here and something needs to be done about...
Read moreAfter driving 2 1/2 hours in Traffic from NYC on a hot summer day of last year 2016, my fiance and I decided to head out to tiki bar as we do every year and met up with our friends and family. On that day I'm guessing the front guard checking ID's perhaps was new to the job....I don't know. He took a look at my fiance's Jersey State ID and let him in. Then took a quick look at my New York State ID and immediately said it was fake and went directly to the next person looking at their IDs. I was immediately in shock 1) He said "This is fake"! and 2) How he mistreated the situation after I pleaded with him that it was not! I couldn't understand how a state so close to Jersey couldn't be figured out. We're freaken neighbors! And this guy couldn't tell the difference between a fake and a real ID was sad. Our family was already inside waiting to meet with us drinks were purchased for us. We had to call them to come outside and figure out what to do. So embarrassing practically in tears the way I was treated I asked for a manager he guard kept ignoring me taking other people's ID. One of our relatives had to find a manager from inside to come outside and deal with our situation. Everyone online looking at us like if I were some young girl trying to get in with a fake ID people passing by laughing. I 'm in my mid 30's wth! I am obviously not under 21. It was so humiliating! The manager came out took a look at my ID turned around to the guard and said this is a real ID and shook his head in disappointed... Guard replied "Well, I didn't know". I don't understand if you didn't know then why not ask someone? One of your coworkers to identify the ID? He just didn't care! Why say immediately it's fake without knowing? I have had a lot of fun coming here before, but that day was one of the most uncomfortable days I ever had because so many people were staring at us as we walked in. A guy even came up to me and said "They let you in"?! If you're coming from a different state just be aware! They do not have the experience checking out of state ID's. Management please change this and I was change my...
