First time here. Thanks to Covid19 all of the fast food places closed their dining inside area, but the drive through were open and packed with a lines of vehicles. Even Ruby Tuesday's was closed, it had closed at 9pm and it was about 5 passed 9. I wanted to sit inside to eat because I hate eating in the car, so we stumbled on this place. It was not crowded and you do need your mask to eat inside. You have to wait to be seated. It was pretty clean inside and the table was clean. The men's bathroom was in pretty good shape even after 9pm. Everything is supposed to be cooked when ordered here. We ordered a large onion rings for an appitizer. They came out hot and crunchy and they were so good they are lightly battered just like I like them, just as good as Popeye's onion rings were before they stopped making them, which was also cooked when ordered. The sauce that come with the onions rings was pretty good especially when you dip it in some ketchup. My daughter said her ceasar chicken salad was good. My wife had grilled salmon with green beans, hush hushpuppies and sweet potato fries. She said it was good. Her salmon in my opinion had nice seasoning, but it was a little to dry in some spots, still good just a little too over grilled. I had the 3 combo seafood platter, which I choose shrimp, scallops, and oysters, with green beans, potato salad, and hushpuppies. I will start with the very bad and bad. The green beans were canned and were not good at all. The potato salad was too sweet probably made with miracle whip. Yuk! I did not like the potato salad. The hushpuppies were fried good but was not sweet enough. The oysters, shrimps and scallops were lightly battered and fried just right. They were good but they were missing some good seafood seasoning. The cocktail sauce was terrible, it was too sweet and not nearly enough horseradish. Our waitress was awesome! She was very attentive, professional, accommodating and courteous. When you come in ask for Ms. Jada.

Update: Carey Hilliards Resturant owner reached out to me and we discussed the situation. I appreciate that so much and sometimes just having a listening ear makes all the difference. Like I said before I frequent Carey Hilliards several times a month and I’ve never had any issues with the food or service or anything until this incident. On 9/1/24 I ordered 2 BLTs around 10:45pm for take out. Once home I discovered we had a mayonnaise and lettuce sandwich with a little bit of crumbled bacon that goes on salads. I called and spoke to the manager, who told me to come in the morning and he would return my money or replace the food but I had to bring the food. By this time it was 11:30pm and the whole purpose of placing a late night order was because we were hungry. If I didn’t want to return to your establishment to this time of night, what makes you think I wanna go out and try to find more food. I informed him that we were hungry and we’re going to eat the sandwich, but I will take a picture of the product to show him that it was not up to Carey Hilliards standards nor worth $ 17.09 This manager was not interested in satisfying the customer (for the poor food quality ot the inconvenience) and again stated that he could not return any money if he didn’t have the food. I live in Savannah and I eat at Carey Hilliards frequently with no issues . I am very disappointed in the quality of the food and the service at this Carey Hilliards in Pooler

Went there last night; it was absolutely awful. The only thing that was good was the friendly cashier (part host) & our waitress, McKenna. When we first walked in we waiting for about 5 minutes with no one even acknowledging us. Then one of the workers decided to start yelling about how she clocked out and she’s not hosting, very awkward. The cashier/now host, came and apologized & sat us. Our waitress was great, she was friendly and provided wonderful service. Her management absolutely failed her. She was clearly very busy and from where we were sat we could see where the food got set under the heat warmers waiting to be ran. The manager I’m assuming she was in plainclothes, was standing by our food & to go food not doing much but talking to the workers while our food sat there for 10 minutes while our waitress was running around busy. As a manager, she should have stepped up and helped out. I watched our waitress grab our food and they had messed something up so she returned it before it ever reached our table. Which the manager who sat it out should have noticed 🙄. We finally got our food and everything was cold/Luke warm. The only thing I actually could eat was the Mac and cheese. I got the bbq and it was covered in ketchup with some seasonings, meat was dry from sitting under the heat lamps and just not edible. I would never go again. I’m just grateful we did at least have an amazing and attentive waitress.

BE AWARE DONT EAT AT THIS PLACE!!! I only left one star so I could leave a review other wise I wouldnt leave any stars. I was in town for a convention. About 40 of us got together after reservations at Carley Hilliards were made to have an evening of fellowship and good food. It ended up being the worst experience EVER. The restaurant was not that busy and they had our group in a banquet room with another party of 20 with just one server. He took our drink and appetizers orders, and shortly aftee that, started delivering our drinks to the tables. He then came back and took our dinner orders. Well after waiting for our food for 2 hours some of our group left because it was taking too long. They final got our server some help but it just seemed to get worst and the staff seemed to catch an attitude with us and get mad about our food. Needless to say, the restaurant made a minimum of $750.00 to $1000 from our group alone. Like I mentioned above, some of our party left because od the delay in getting our meals. Those that stay did get our food after 2 hours and the food received was cold and nasty. I ended up throwing mine away after spending $92.00. This was such a disappointment. I asked to speak to a manager and watched the hostess go to one of the three managers on duty (2 managers & 1 general manager) and she looked my way and never came to speak with me, as did the GM. The manager cashed me out and I asked if she was too busy to speak with me when I requested to have a conversation with her and she claimed she didnt know that I wanted to speak with her. I responded by saying, yes you did because when the hostess told you I wanted to speak with you, you looked at me and kept doing what you were doing. I guess that is common practice, because the GM did the same thing. By far the worst experience EVER. Our organization has over 1000 members and come to Pooler frequently for conventions. We will not return to Carey Hilliard restaurant ever again and will pass on our bad experience to all our members, friends, family and coworkers in the Metro Atlanta and surrounding cities and warn them never to go to this restaurant, as they do not care about...

My service from the waitress/server was OK. The atmosphere was fine. I had issues with my food. To start off, my appetizer, it was as if only two to three of my shrimp had sauce on it. I had to ask for an extra cup of sauce for the boom-boom shrimp that was sitting on top of the toss salad that looked like it was about to expire. The shrimp should have been tossed in the sauce. I paid for the deluxe sandwich that gives two kinds of cheese, and both of the meat is shaved. The bacon was burnt, they took my sandwich back to prepare again. When it came back, I had less meat and only one kind of cheese. It was prepared again with the two cheeses, but I was cheated out of the meat. I just didn't want to send it back a third time. My baked potato was overcooked. I really tried to eat it, but I couldn't. I was literally able to scoop a teaspoon amount from each side of the inside of the potato. If I wanted to eat the skin, it was too hard and overcooked. I just went with a whole different side. My sweet tea tasted like it came from the bottom of the barrel. She gave me better tasting sweet tea from another batch or barrel. I was trying to give this location another chance because it was well over a year since I've been to this location, but the quality of the food preparation has gone down. The customer service is still good. I still tipped my waitress, although I feel a server plays a part in the service of the food as well. As a server, you should look at the food before taking it to your customer and tell the cook, this is not right, there's not any sauce on this, the meat is burnt, this is a deluxe sandwich you're skimping out on the meat, this is too hard. Don't just bring the customer anything and expect them to just take it. The price of the food has gone up, but I knew the price of the food from the menu when I ordered, so I was cool with it. I just wanted my food to be accurate and match the price. Not one time did the manager come to the table after my food went back several times. I didn't ask for one, but that should've...
