TLDR; the iced coffee is not good, the wait is long and the staff don’t pay attention to your order (wrong order and you spend so long waiting to order you don’t want to wait for them to fix it).
I went to this shop twice, once at this location and then gave it a second chance at the location inside the Island Bakery.
The vibe is great and the staff are friendly, I liked the live music happening at this location at 10am (a unique touch), but the coffee itself was disappointing both times.
The first visit I got an iced latte, the coffee was on tap but since it wasn’t espresso it just tasted weak and watery. There was a 20-30 minute wait for a line of 15 or so people.
I decided to give Barefoot Beans a second chance, but the second visit was awful. I asked for an iced latte again with 2% milk, this time asking for espresso instead of the watery tap coffee which they did. After a lengthy wait (20 minutes for a line of 8 people), I got back to the car and took a big first sip. I immediately noticed the milk they used was not 2% and was actually half and half. I ended up throwing it out, I felt sick for the rest of the day. I don’t know who would want to drink a 16oz iced coffee that is 90% half and half especially when not requested.
2/2 disappointing...
Read moreI’ve been obsessed with this place since I first discovered it in January. I came to Port A for my birthday weekend, and before we could even unpack, we headed to grab some drinks here. From coffee, smoothies, and the variety of teas, i’m confident anyone can find something they’ll enjoy here. Parker is always super kind, and all the baristas give this coffee shop so much life, making it stand out from the rest. They had no problem giving me recommendations of places to visit while here, which made the bday weekend even better. One of the hardest parts about going back home is leaving this coffee shop, but it always gives me something to look forward to when we do come to town again! edit: pictured below is a Bob Marley...
Read moreI am a former barista from San Antonio, and I STRUGGLE to find truly good and consistent coffee. I’m visiting Port A for the weekend, and I picked this place for my morning fix because of the glowing reviews. I was not disappointed, the atmosphere is amazing, the customer service was impressive, the coffee was DELICIOUS and they were FAST and efficient. I could tell the employees know what they are doing, and enjoy what they are doing. I hope they are being paid well!! There was also lots of trinkets and odds and ends they sell, which were super cool to look at while we waited in line. It’s such a shame I live 3 hours away from here, this is truly a hidden gem of a...
