Very small indoor dining area, but we were happy to eat outside. The outdoor dining is nicely shaded and decorated in a fun Tiki Style. Place your order and watch your food being made a lot like the counter at a Sub Sandwich Shop. There were only 2-women working and they were hustling. They could have used another person to take orders and one to bring orders to the table. They did a great job, but needed some help. Some of us got our food at the counter, some food was brought out 10-minutes later, some food for 2 of us never came out so we went in and got it — by this time 3 of us had finished eating. Egg drop soup was forgotten. We were a family of 5 — 3-Poke Bowls, 2-rolls, and 1-soup with 25% tip $93. The food was good taste-wise, a bit pricy for the quality. I had the Tuna Lovers Poke — fresh, seasoned well, nice portion, but the tuna had big un-chewable fat strings in it. It was in the pieces cut in cubes (the minced up spicy tuna was fine). I had to spit the cube type in a napkin (my apologies for being graphic, but it really was pure gristle) I was only able to eat half of the Tuna in the “Tuna Lovers” Poke. The egg drop soup was cold and didn’t seem right — it was missing the egg with only a few stick like pieces. It’s spring break, but they didn’t seem overly busy. There wasn’t anyone in line before us. Another family walked in as we were walking away with our bowls. It was the sushi that seemed to slow things down. The taste of the sushi was great, but when you go to eat it you realize the roll was super loose. I’m guessing she was new at making rolls. It tasted fine, just falling apart when you try to eat it. I asked if any of the fish for the bowls was local and the woman making the food said they can’t get local fish because it violates a county ordinance…? I thought that was strange in a state that has a rural road system called “Farm to Table” — that, and we are on an Island…. I’m left scratching my head — I’m on an island, but I can’t eat the local fish at this restaurant because it violates a county ordinance— that doesn’t make sense to me…? Anyway — all that being said, I’m giving it 4-stars because the food did taste good, the ambiance was nice, and the staff was working hard. I would try another bowl, maybe something besides tuna. The Summer Heat bowls we...
Read moreThis place has good food, but their service is rough. We’ve been a couple times and there’s this one girl in particular that is always incredibly rude. We tried to give her the benefit of the doubt for awhile because, of course, people have bad days, but it never got any better. The first time we went, she told us to hurry up and would only let us order fast things because she said “we’re closing soon.” We apologized and quickly placed our order. Then I kindly asked when they closed and she said 6pm. it was 4:30. Again, we didn’t say much because maybe it was just a rough day, but she happily served many other people for the hour after that we were there. Then, when we went back today, she was super insulting to my husband. Acted annoyed to make the order, blatantly rolled her eyes and walked away when he was asking questions, and also overcharged him. She said we owed almost $50 for something that the menu adds up to only $35. On top of all this, they constantly tell us they make sushi from 11am-5pm every day, but every time we’ve showed up around 3 they refuse to make it for us. They claim it’s because they don’t want to waste rice? Idk about that, but it seems off. And if it’s true, maybe just don’t advertise that you have sushi until 5. Maybe just say “while supplies last” or...
Read more🙂 Pros: Convenient location in the center of Port A with outdoor seating on a shaded patio (or choose from a few tables inside). Next door is a groovy coffee shop called Barefoot Beans. So the vibe of the whole place is nice. ⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Asian Beef Bowl was very good. The meat was tender and thinly sliced, vegetables were fresh and the sauce was light and tasty. Definitely a good choice. 🙁 Cons: $$$$ For what you get, the dishes and drinks all seem expensive. The Boba Tea is uninspiring, $5 for a plastic cup of jello, tea and milk. Not Green - Everything is served in disposable, single-use plastic and styrofoam containers. For the price they charge, Port A Poke could kick it up a notch and serve on real dishes. ⭐ The General Tso's Chicken was a disappointment. The sauce was an artificially bright red color and squirted onto the top of the food, not served hot. It tasted like the bottled sauce you'd find in the grocery store's Asian food isle, as opposed to a sauce made on site. The fried chicken pieces seemed like what you'd find in the grocery store frozen food section. It's like fast food but costs three...
