I was so excited to try Bangkok Palace in downtown Portland, Oregon. I walked in and made my way to wash my hands before sitting down and ordering, but the server immediately put their body between me and the path to the bathroom and vigorously pointed to the dining area incessantly repeating go sit. I responded I would do so after using the facilities, but they refused to remove themselves from my path and they just stood there blocking me until my husband, who was standing in the dining area brought to their attention that I was with him. That's when they finally removed themselves from blocking my path to the bathroom. I must add, my husband is white. I am not. After having some time to reflect on what I had just experienced by this establishment, I decided I didn't want to support a business that denies a customer to attend to a basic human need for hygienic hands. My husband and I both walked out and don't plan on returning. I can only imagine their cuisine would have been exquisite but I was not given the opportunity to find out due to this abhorrent experience. Even as I submit this review, I acknowledged and honored the persons pronouns and how they choose to identify even when they intentionally chose not to do the same for me, even when I am not...

Went in to grab a quick bite while shopping at the mall. Took nearly 30 minites just to get a drink and then another 30 to get food. Bartender was new, not his fault... eventually when he was at least 45 minutes backed up on people, the manager decided to send somebody to "half a$$" help him slightly... The new bartender was literally doing the best he absolutely could, but his cohort team and his manager completely let him down. He knew nothing about the food or the menu, which is kind of his bad truthfully... Food was good, especially for bar food. Burger and fries were good, drink was poured well, service was very lacking due to no oversight of a new employee by the managers or the other employees on shift. Felt sorry for him... May or may not return let's see...

WOW! First, you have to know my friends and I love Thai food, and we have had a lots and lots of Thai food. We walked in this place thinking... this place kinda cliche stereotypical Thai looking... nothing too exciting, prob do okay Thai food. When the food came, we got a bit more excited. The dishes looked very good, great colours and generous ingredients, and wonderful aroma, especially the Basil Fried Rice. We were blown away when we finally tasted the food. We were so impressed by the flavour. We were so happy to discover this quiet little gem. We were very surprised that we could just walk in and get a table at this restaurant with food tasting this good. Kudos to the chef and friendly staff. Thanks for the very delicious meal. We will be...

This restaurant looked very promising in pictures and reviews, but I had a really underwhelming meal. I had the prik king cashew with chicken. The meat was well cooked, but that was really the only positive. The bell pepper was really overcooked, and even though I ordered medium spice, I think ketchup has more heat. The food has very little flavor. Possibly, I would consider trying something else in the future, but stuff so many good food options in Portland is hard to return if it doesn't stand out in the first place.
