The bartenders were really nice and welcoming, it was a very laid back atmosphere! Everyone had big smiles and were happy to help at all times. I needed help deciding which drink to order and our bartender took all the time needed to describe many drinks on the menu and which one I might like the best based on my taste in drinks. He and the others came back multiple times to ask if we needed something else and to answer any questions we had. He even made a special effort to make a cocktail I found online that looked good to me, and didnt act put out by it. They brought us our sizzle pie pizza hot and fresh with all of the condiments we would need, right at the bar. Sizzle pie is my favorite restaurant in Portland and I was so happy that they have a bar next door that you can still get their food AND amazing drinks! I love loud punk music, and it's one of the many reasons I go here everytime I come to Portland and I was not disappointed tonight. If you dont like loud music, I wouldn't recommend this place but it was perfect for my taste. I am definitely passing on my experience to all of my friends, and I will be back...
Read moreThis is one of the best bars I've been to. I come through once or twice a year on travel and get a vegan pie from neighboring Sizzle Pie, shot and a beer, and then order from the everchanging and eclectic cocktail menu. The pizza and drinks are always awesome. The punk and metal music is loud and the atmosphere is lowkey. The bartender is constantly experimenting behind the bar to figure out new drinks for the cocktail menu and change up the music playlist, which enhances the atmosphere. This place is very inclusive, which makes me feel uber comfortable. This is one of the best parts of my trips to Portland.
Update 1 year later: Still as cool as last times. Bartender handled a drunk jerk deftly. All of the bartenders here are really good mixologists and know how to handle a crowd with multiple orders at...
Read moreMy fiance and I drove down to Portland from Seattle for a weekend getaway. After going to El Gaucho for dinner we decided to stop off at Quality bar for a drink or two on our walk back to where we were staying. Mind you, we are not big drinkers and had not yet had any alcoholic beverages at this point. After walking in the cold for 10-15 minutes we walked in the door and were asked for our ID's. As we were getting them out of our wallets, the security guard said, "You guys are way too drunk to be in here right now; you need to leave". We thought he was joking since we only had water with our steaks at dinner. He wasn't. We were shocked! We ended up going to a bar down the street called Jackknife and had a great time, so it worked out but...
