I had never been to a Shake Shake until that day so I was excited for the visit. I ordered a cheeseburger and a small strawberry milkshake too. The cheeseburger was warm but not hot like you would expect a burger that came off the grill, it must of sat under the lights for 7-10 minutes before they gave it to me. If I would have been @ home when I got my food, I would have definitely put it into the microwave for at least :30 seconds to reheat the food. The cheeseburger looked kinda edible but was extremely greaseie in look and taste. And it was barely warm burger to top off this S.S. review. Now I figured a restaurant that has Shake in thier name would have had a better tasting strawberry milkshake. And I also assumed that they would of had more choices for different types of milkshakes then what they had. So I decided to get a small strawberry shake and it was okay at best. I think Red Robin has way better strawberry 🍓 milkshake then Shake Shack. I was excited to go to Shake Shack on that day, because I only eat out about 7-12 X a year. And I rarely nowadays eat cheeseburgers, burgers or beef nowadays. And I try to stay away from over process foods. So I come excited to try out the Shake Shack restaurant because I have never been there before. And after getting my Luke warm cheeseburger & my OK milkshake. it was all down hill after that for my experience. I will never eat there again but I might way into the future get another OKAY 👍 milkshake from them. But I can say with 100% certainty that I will not visit there again this year. I am just hugely disappointed with there food choices, service and the taste of thier food more importantly. I vote a big "NO" and "1-Star" on the restaurant and experience. Thank you have...

Our Shake Shack journey began with a visit to NYC in the fall 2021. On one of our first days there we tried Shake Shack for lunch and were impressed by the flavors, the customer service and the cleanliness of the establishment. As much as we enjoyed the experience we returned to Portland knowing this brush with excellence that we encountered on vacation would never be replicated in our hometown unless we were to venture to Beaverton...yikes to that!
Thankfully the burger overlords listened to our hungry cries of peril and rewarded us with this new location on West Burnside. And I can not be anymore grateful. Not only has our NYC experience been replicated time after time again but has even more so created an insatiable desire to visit this place for dinner as much as we can.
It begins with a big team of diligent workers that look after you even after the meal has been consumed. They're kind and have an aurora of humbleness to them which is unfathomable considering the excellence they serve on tray after tray.
The burgers are phenomenal, the fries are perfectly seasoned and the cheese fries have that oooey gooey exterior that makes me whimper with each bite. The shakes have a robust natural flavor to them even if you get a good ol' plain vanilla like myself.
All in all every time we visit there is just this sense of happiness that glows over this place that teleports me to a world where infinite joy and hope are preserved. Thank you Shake Shack for rewriting my sense of reality. I can not recommend this place more.

Read moreUsually a fan of Shake Shack, but this was my first time at this location, and every part of the experience was subpar and not worth the money. 2 stars is generous.
Ordering was held up because several people were waiting for someone to come verify their ID for beer. It said an employee was on their way, but eventually someone went up to get them.
Got to a kiosk and ordering went smooth until the end of the order when it asks you to enter a table number. There weren't any available at the kiosks so I went up to ask someone for one, said they were out and to enter 0. This was also slowing down the line so while I waited I'd tell the confused folks to enter 0.
Ordered two singles, a fry, and a chocolate milk. Total came to ~$29 with a 10% tip.
16 minutes later, got my food (but no text that the order was ready), and noticed that the chocolate milk was missing an inch off the top. Maybe because it's an ice free drink? I don't know just seemed cheap.
Finding a table was... interesting. Almost every spot was dirty with grease or food residue.
Not sure what happened since it just came off the counter, but everything was cold and soggy, except for the shorted milk which had been prepped 16 minutes prior and was now near room temperature.
Just felt gross and turned off from Shake Shack after finishing as much as I could stand.
I could have purchased a solid meal with a better experience for the same price within a few blocks. I really regret coming in at all.
If you're going to charge Shake Shack prices, you should be offering the actual Shake...
