This has been my favorite shawarma place for the last year and half and I used to recommend it to people but unfortunately it has gone downhill. I live less than 3 minutes walk from the place. I usually order a meal and walk home to a delicious dinner. They do take a long time preparing it but usually it was worth it!!
However, the last 3 or 4 times, the meals has been very cold and taste like they’ve been sitting out for a while. Especially the fries 😞 Again, I’ve been ordering for the last year. So in the cold of January I was able to walk home and my meal is still hot and almost burning my fingers walking home. However today and the last few weeks it was supper cold. A few chicken pieces were literally colder than room temp. The fries has definitely been sitting for longer than an hour or two. And they’re also cold so even if they’re old they weren’t even heated up.
I regret leaving a 20% tip when there’s nothing special or extra done for my meal. It’s actually the opposite as it was just BARELY doing the actual job as it is.
The music is also waaaaay too loud. I couldn’t hear the guy. And I always have to shout to say my order!
It’s really sad. I hope this is only temporary as the food I can tell is still SUPPOSED TO be delicious has it been the correct...
Read moreI’ve eaten here quite a few times when I lived in the area and even when I was in Vancouver. You can’t go wrong having a meal here.
Tonight, I ordered a Beef Arabi with spicy sauce. The meal came with fries, condiments, and I assume utensils (I was in a hurry and didn't let the employee finish their sentence. Sorry!). The young lady who prepared my food was courteous and knew exactly what she was doing when she was cooking.
The beef arabi itself was delicious. Juicy, tender, and appropriately spicy. The taste of all the ingredients together was sensational. The tomatoes, lettuce, and cucumber go so well with the beef. Top it all off with their delicious sauces and your tastebuds are on a trip to umami city.
The fries were cooked perfectly. Crispy but not overcooked and salted just right. The side is a nice break from the delicious but heavy arabi.
I realize this is mostly a review for the beef arabi, haha. Trust me though, I don’t usually review Food Trucks but this one is a gem.
Other things to note: They take tap to pay including Apple Pay, but that's pretty common for food trucks. Definitely try the Lamb and Falafels, they’re wonderful but I didn’t have...
Read moreThis place stole $16 from me for an order I did not receive.
I placed a pick up order through the Uber Eats, for a falafel gyro. In the app it said buy one get one free. So I placed an item count for 1, thinking the system will provide another one for free. When I arrived they only had 1 gyro for me. I didn’t know how the system worked, so my bad for not putting 2 in the Uber Eats platform.
They said they were going to cancel this order and to place the order again. So I did. I placed the order twice.
To find out later, I saw 2 charges for $16 at this restaurant in my bank account. I tried to reach out to the Uber support. Twice. Both support specialists said that they will not be able to refund me for my first order, (that I did not receive) because the restaurant did not cancel it on their end.
I tried calling this restaurant 3 times, and didn’t reach anyone. The support specialists reached out to them and no phone pick up. So Uber said they couldn’t process me a refund.
$32 for 2 gyros. When they’re $11 at the restaurant…...
