Teabar is a fantastic spot that offers a variety of dairy alternatives and high-quality, locally sourced ingredients. They take pride in using the freshest, small-batch products, and over half of their drinks are served in reusable mason jars for those enjoying their drinks on-site.
While they are best known for their matcha, Teabar also has an exciting range of sparkling teas and tea lattes to choose from. However, the matcha truly stands outāsmooth, sweet, and with a delicate, buttery mouthfeel. Sourced from a family farm in Uji, Japan, itās shipped fresh every month, making it perfect for both lattes or sipping on its own. If you enjoy fruit teas, you can add boba or a sweetened fruit purĆ©e (mango, strawberry, guava) combined with jasmine tea and milk. The mango is a personal favorite! Donāt forget that you can request extra sweetener at no additional charge.
Teabarās take-home matcha is also reasonably priced, so you can enjoy the premium quality at home. The staff is always friendly, eager to help, and more than willing to recommend something new or assist first-timers in finding the perfect drink. As a regular, I can confidently say that their matcha is top-notch, and I recommend it to anyone new to matcha. You can even take home their matcha or the entire matcha set (which includes a prong whisk, ceremonial matcha, whisk holder, & a bowl ) available in the shop or online.
The owner is incredibly kind and often pops in to serve drinks herself, adding a personal touch to the experience. Recently, theyāve teamed up with a skincare brand for a limited-edition drink called the "Berry Matcha." This delicious creation combines vibrant green matcha shaken with Oatly and is topped with a refreshing raspberry-strawberry cold foam. The oat milk adds an unexpected sweetness that complements the matcha perfectly without overpowering the flavor.
In addition to their drinks, Teabar also makes their own house milks and boba daily, ensuring every drink is freshly made to order. If you love chewy boba, you're in for a treat! They also offer merch at the shop and online, along with freshly baked goods. I highly recommend Teabarāitās a place Iāve been a fan of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIt could've been better! This was my first time and am not planning on coming back. Their tea drinks both hot and cold were too weak and too dilute!
Nice walkable neighborhood on this side of town, right across from a decent Tanner Springs Park with close proximity to the waterfront so I do understand the why behind the 4-star rating both on Yelp and Google Reviews.
The staff took my order clearly exhibited the body language that they preferred to be elsewhere. I was going through the menu with specific questions so it took a bit longer and I also said it was my first time there. And nothing, not even a word of "Oh take your time" or "Let me know if you have any questions about the menu " or even offered suggestions with their best seller or seasonal menu, nada! Perhaps Tea Bar made it and built enough fan base for profit so no need to earn new patrons.
I decided to order these 4 items to get a broader taste of what they offered: -Blue Majik Detox, 16oz, $6.75: iced only, it was so light to the point of flavorless and tasteless. I did not smell any hint of the organic lavender tea and definitely did not taste the cold-pressed lemon juice at all. -Hojicha Rose Latte-Seasonal, 12oz, $7.00 (extra $1 for Oatly): hot, I could taste the house-made Egyptian rose sweetener and was glad I got oat milk which helped enhance the flavor a bit for me. -Prosciutto Gruyere Croissant (warmed), $6.50: I came in right at 4:30 pm so if this was made on the same day, it definitely lost all of its flakiness. The layers stuck together so it was forgettable and nothing special about the prosciutto. -Lindsays Mini Olive Oil Cake, $8.00: it looked alluring so I was excited and had high hopes for it. Oil it was, even too oiled for me. I thought it was going to be moistened which is my preference for cake, but it was not moist or light at all. It was way too sweet for my taste. I only had a few spoons and asked for a to-go box. To my surprise, they do not have boxes, only cookie bag size. I understand boxes cost more, yet if you sell any baked goods with loaded powder on top, a bag to go is not...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had been wanting to check out Tea Bar for a while. It was Friday and after a happy hour date with my husband we found ourselves walking in front of the Tea Bar Pearl location, we walked in (we were the only ones customers in there), it felt like we were invisible and for a second I thought of simply walking away, but we walked up to the counter and the employee behind the counter walked up to the cash register without a word. After I told her it was our first time there, she continued silent with no reaction. My husband asked what where the most popular boba drinksā¦with zero expression she gave us the top 2 boba teas ordered and thatās what we had. The boba teas are great (vanilla rose & thai tea), the boba was delicious, but the service is definitely lacking. The price and the customer service left me thinking this was the first & the last. I didnāt feel welcomed.
I decided to give them a second try, I visited the location on Yamhill (Tea Bar Park Avenue). The employee greeted me when I walked in, she had a smile on her face and was friendly. The complete opposite experience from the location in the Pearl. This type of service and the good quality of product makes it easier to spend $7 on a boba drink or $30 on a take home tea bag/package. Itās not my āgo toā, but maybe when I want to splurge this will be the...
