A small yet bright and inviting coffee shop with an adorable duck mascot as their logo and branding. We beat any sort of rush going early and being a rainy day outside but it was starting to pick up when we left. So a nice day be prepared for a possible wait or crowded building. Street parking may be hard to find nearby as well. The staff were friendly and welcoming greeting every one with a smile and trying to do a lot at once.
They offer a vast amount of options ranging from coffee and tea drinks to give you a pick up start to the day to beer, wine, and cocktails to make you feel those brunch vibes. We tried their iced drip coffee and their iced latte but look forward to return to give their cocktails a try. Food wise they have an assorted selection of sandwiches, house made English muffins, and assorted pastries/sweets! I tried their No. 2 while my fiancée got their BLT. The No. 2 was very tasty despite being a mess and hard to keep together, very solid breakfast sandwich most people would enjoy. The bacon was perfectly crisp on the BLT. The English muffins quality from being house made were so good! Both would be great choices for a breakfast sandwich, my only knock is the price of the sandwiches are quite high especially compared to some other places with larger sandwiches. Due to this I am giving 4 stars. Despite that I would highly recommend this...
Read moreCame here with my girlfriend for breakfast on a Sunday morning - was very disappointed by just about everything. We sat at the bar, ordered an iced latte and a chai latte, two no. 2’s and an English muffin with cream cheese. Our lattes came out relatively quick, but were watered down with way too much milk. We then sat waiting watching them package to go meal after to go meal. Everyone at the bar was sitting there with no food, clearly agitated by the slow service. I watched food prepared for those dining in sit in the window getting cold for 10 minutes before they’d bring it to someone, which made absolutely no sense. Finally, after 45 minutes of waiting, they brought out my English muffin and my girlfriend’s no. 2. The English muffin was fine, but my girlfriend’s sandwich was disgusting. The sausage was undercooked, the muffin dry - she said it was barely edible. After another 15 minutes of waiting for my sandwich we decided to pay and leave. They apologized for the long wait and blamed it on being busy on the weekends, but it was clear the restaurant was just poorly run. You can do better than this gimmicky spot,...
Read moreCame here on a Sunday morning, so take this review with a grain of salt. It was busy, but we were seated right away. We ordered at the host counter before sitting, in order to speed up the process. Unfortunately, we didn’t get our food for an hour and a half. We ordered two egg sandwiches, without any special requests, so I’m not sure why it took so long. Even though it was busy, the restaurant is pretty small, and there were probably 30 people there total. The sandwiches were pretty good, so perhaps during the week it’s a safe bet. I would avoid on saturdays and sundays or call ahead for a to-go order.
The vibe is very trendy and instagrammy, which is not my taste but no hate. As a warning, the music was loud hardcore techno. Not sure if that’s always playing, but if you’re looking for a casual Sunday morning breakfast, I would not recommend this place (especially if you had a few drinks the night before).
The staff were all very nice and hardworking, so I don’t mean any disrespect. Seems like a volume/operations issue for egg sandwiches to take so long. Perhaps I’ll try again mid-week when they...
