We used to frequent Mulligans all the time & it was one of our favorite places. We quit going after a few bad experiences in a row when they were having trouble getting things & short staffed during/after Covid. We hadn't been there in at least 1-2 years until 2 weekends ago when we decided to give it another try. The host acted like we were an inconvenience coming in & honestly we should have just left right then. Our waiter was fantastic but our food took a very long time. My husband got a steak & was going to pay $1.50 extra for the vegetables as a side. The waiter brought us our food and my husband had a baked potato but no vegetables. My husband wasn't even going to say anything but the waiter noticed & said he would refund the difference ($1.50) off our bill. When he brought us the bill he said the manager wouldn't refund the $1.50 difference for the vegetables because we accepted the potato - even though we never got the item we were paying the extra $1.50 for. The waiter was going to give us the $1.50 out of his own tip money. We refused his money & tipped him anyways. I can honestly say we will never be back & never recommend Mulligan's to anyone after this last negative experience. It's a shame because it used to be one of our favorite places. It's also a shame Mulligans chose to lose loyal customers vs giving a...
Read moreThis place is a definite tourist trap and when I say trap I mean in the worst possible way. This place was my first stop on Saturday July 13th for my Wisconsin mini vacation, since it was in the tourist town of Prairie Du Chein, Wisconsin. I did a critical examination of their menu and knew exactly what I wanted: the breaded cheese curds (I was in Wisconsin which is famous for it's cheese in the US, so that seemed like a good bet). The brought me my breaded cheese curds and while the cheese seemed like a good quality, I couldn't really tell cause they were too greasy to taste anything else. The cheese curds had a nice breading on them, but they were literally a sponge for the grease of the deep fat fryer which tasted about 2 months old. I got down to my last 5 or 6 last breaded cheese curds and I was literally dabbing the grease off those few remaining curds cause I was starting to feel ill and just wanted to leave this place, so that I could go somewhere else and eat something so that I'd feel less noxious. The bartender there recommended the Potosi Brewery in Potosi, Wisconsin, so I headed there next feeling sick as a dog. I was sick for 2 days after my ordeal here. I won't ever return. Not...
Read moreNice looking both outside and in. Very friendly, attentive service. However, the food was not very good. The cheese curds came highly recommended, but were very disappointing - undercooked and not very flavorful. The "baked" french onion soup was not baked, the soup tasted like Campbell's, and an unmelted piece of processed cheese was placed on top. The patty-melt was cooked well-done, so it was very dry (we weren't asked how we wanted it cooked). Also, it was supposed to be served on sourdough bread, but it was just basic white bread. Finally, our server was very nice, but she brought out the soup one minute after the appetizer, and the entrée just a few minutes after that - not a well-paced meal. We had high hopes, but were very...
