Five Guys — Restaurant in Prattville

First, let me start by saying that Google has this restaurant categorized wrong - it should be $$, not $ for what it charges for a burger, fries, and a drink.

However, it's worth every penny. The burgers here are awesome. And the fries are delicious. We usually order two little cheeseburgers, a little fry, and a large drink and we still spend about $16. I love how the toppings are free with the purchase of a burger. I like to stack mine with grilled mushrooms, mayo, ketchup, mustard, and lettuce.

Lately, though, I've switched to ordering a Kosher Dog with mustard and ketchup. It's also very good.

The music at all 5 guys I've been to (in Georgia and Alabama) is usually loud and obnoxious. The atmosphere is stressful as it is usually rock with a harder edge playing over very loud speakers. The choice of music doesn't really bother me, it's just the volume level that gets to me. If you visit the restroom, don't expect to stay long unless you want to permanently lose your hearing.

They also use the somewhat new Coca-Cola Freestyle machines that lets you choose from about 100 different drink flavors. Whenever I see one of those machines, I know that the Coke will taste terrible. It just isn't the same as a fountain machine dedicated...

I was at this Five Guys location in Prattville, Alabama yesterday 8/27/17. This was my first time at Five Guys. My friend and I had been on the road for hours. We were visiting from Ohio. I was very hungry and desperate to find a delicious burger place. My friend, who was with me, promised I would love this place and their burgers. Clearly, she's a fan. We were greeted by an amazing man named Joel. Joel listened to what I wanted in a burger, gave me suggestions, and even showed me photos of some of the burgers that might fit my needs. After thinking through my options I placed my order. Joel was so kind and patient. He even gave me a complimentary water bottle (don't scold him for this)! When I received my order it was PERFECT. The online ordering system is a joke if they are busy. The first time I used online ordering, I was pleasantly surprised. I got there, gave the cashier my money and was on my way in about 5-7 minutes. They said they wait until I come in to cook the fries. Ok...I guess I can handle that, although I wondered what the point of scheduling the time but I digress. The second time...OMG! I ordered via online, went to the cashier as I did before to pay, thinking she was going to say "ok, your order will be up in 5 minutes " Nope...the first thing she said was "No one is getting anything until at least 20 minutes." I asked if this includes online orders, she said yes. HUH?? But I thought this was the point of an online order....to be ready when I get there. There was already a PACKED store so that would mean I probably had another 40 minutes to wait for food I pre-ordered....
