Bolt Coffee is located in downtown Providence. Close to Kennedy Park and the RIPTA bus station, you should be able to see all of the action that goes on in the middle of the city.
I was able to sit down and enjoy a $4 herbal hibiscus tea in the middle of a cloudless day. When I wasn't contemplating the plight of the untoasted avocado toast (is it really called toast?), I was observing all the goings on of the city.
With 4 outdoor patio tables and 2 chairs to each table, there was enough seating. The street soundscape rang of cars, beeps from horns, and the random drama of passersby. No one ordered any untoasted toast, I was alone in my thoughts.
Bolt's hibiscus tea is not the watered down version you might find at other coffee shops. There was a strong flavor in the first brewing of hot water. Staff offered me seconds of hot water to prolong my stay. I thank them for that.
Highly recommended. A community table, plus three to four individual tables are available for seating inside. There is wireless. And I have decided to just call it avocado toast, untoasted," because that's how my...
Read moreMy daughter and I were staying at the Graduate Hotel in downtown Providence and we were in desperate need of a good place for cappucino and a some food before returning home. Bolt Coffee was a short block walk from the hotel and smack beside the Biltmore Garage where we were parked. It was so cold and windy we were tempted to resort to a drive thru but I'm SO happy that we pushed through and went in. The atmosphere was bright, warm, and welcoming. We ordered an iced caramel cappucino and a hot cappucino, the Breakfast Sandwich and a Ham & Cheese croissant. The wait staff was excellent and the food was so fresh! We decided to stay and eat there and split the sandwiches. They were both delicious! My cappucino was a work of art and made me smile...sometimes it's just those simple touches that make your experience. We will definitely go back to Providence soon and Bolt will be the first stop...
Read moreI wanted to find a coffee shop really quick for some coffee and bites. This place amazed me. The coffee strength is great. I got it black (accidentally) with espresso, but the coffee is still flavorful and rich in taste. What wow'd me the most was the Pulled Pork sandwich. I opted for it other than a breakfast sandwich and I wasn't disappointed, I was happy. I haven't had a great pulled pork sandwich in a while. It came on Ciabatta, I asked for them to go lite on the BBQ sauce which seemed like a great idea. The bread had an citrus avocado spread on it that made it even more tasteful. Included with pickled onions, the sauce had a mild spice to it that perfected it. I can't express how amazingly great this place was. Last but not least, the person taking my order was extremely polite and got my order out quickly. 5 Stars...
