Ellie's — Restaurant in Providence

Terrible experience today. June 8th I walk in with a friend from town claiming Ellie’s has the best sandwiches in all RI all excited I order one to go- I wait 30 MINUTES. Still nothing, I go up to kindly ask about the delay so the staff says let me go check in on that order I get a simple nod and ask for my receipt. 5 minutes pass and I ask again and the same staff skinny Caucasian male teenager with glasses and a bandana says oh someone is checking in on that- as I’ve been monitoring the whole situation for 5 minutes seeing him continue about his day like I didn’t ask him this (he stayed right by the coffee station talking to a colleague) At this point my patience is thin and I ask to cancel the order after 40 WHOLE MINUTES. Not even a sorry but instead he says. Ok I’ll cancel that order you can leave. I expressed no anger no hostility just composure. I wouldn’t have had an issue if some sympathy was given but damn terrible staff and sadly wouldn’t ever know if this place has great food. Just do yourselves a favor and go to small point cafe next door - where they took 10 minutes in total to get me a coffee sandwich and donut. 0/10 for...

Struggling with wedding favors, not wanting to burden our guests with something they don't necessarily need and/or would just simply collect dust over time, perhaps end up in the trash, the folks at Ellie's Bakery had just what we were looking for.

Both of us connoisseurs of macaroons, Ellie's has a great line up that met our wedding theme of showcasing the flavors of the season, in this case between Summer and Autumn, as well as that of Rhode Island.

Able to produce the macaroons in our wedding colors plus provide recyclable, firm-plastic packaging that would allow our far-away guests to easily transport the macaroons home, our wedding favors turned out to be a big hit such that the favors left on our sweet-heart wedding table were swiped. We had to ask some of our local guests to return one to two of extras that they had taken just to get a taste of the sweetness that Ellie's makes.

Highly recommend, be sure to check out their monthly macaroon line-up for ideas. Folks at the bakery are quite accommodating, awesome, and willing to spend as much time as possible listening...

So when it comes to a great latte and all espresso based drinks, me and my guy don’t play. We literally drive to Yonkers, New York to Mandy Bean Specialty Coffee from Cranston, Rhode Island to get a good latte. Ellie’s is the Mandy Bean of Rhode Island! We were told by the staff that the owner has everyone attend a barista class. 😃👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Talk about investing in your business and it showing. We have yet to have a poorly made drink at Ellie’s. The drinks, top notch, the macrons, OMG 🤤 I will say like a prior review my only issue has been with the breakfast sandwich. I ordered a croissant and only half of it had egg on it and I paid extra for the sausage, needless to say the sandwich was anemic. I just won’t order that again. But I will come back every chance I get for the most amazing latte in all of RI served in a house mug.
