Ten Prime Steak & Sushi — Restaurant in Providence

I never do reviews but I need to do this so people will not waste their money in this overpriced restaurant. For starters we were trying to get our car valet but no one was in the front to Valet our car, we waited approximately 5 minutes and decided to park our car around the corner . For the record Everyone inside the restaurant was nice and processional is the food that really sucks. We put in our drink order for a Scorpion Bowl -And what we received is far beyond what a Scorpion Bowl should be. A scorpion bowl is typically an extra large bowl fill to the top with mixed drinks and random cocktail fruits. What we received was a small bowl that was only 20 percent filled. On the menu it said it was good for two but I disagree its merely enough for 1 person. We order the steaks medium and they were over cooked. We pair our meals with scallops and shrimps;we also order sushi which we thought the portion was very small but its whatever its sushi. As our main dish the presentation was lacking. For a " high End" restaurant we were expecting a 5 star quality in presentation and taste. The steak was placed on top of the mashed potatoes. The only thing that was good was the onion strips but that's it. Our bacon wrap scallops were over cooked. In addition it took 1 hour and 25 minutes for our food to come out. Some people in our party complained that their steak was cold, so safe to say our food was standing in the back for a long period of time. This has been the worse restaurant experience and we will never go back there and will tell family and friends to stay away. My husband got a bad case of food poisoning and he had to missed work because of it. Could have been a cross contamination of raw seafood and under cooked meat. Our expectations was high because of the reviews we read and the menu the restaurant had led us to believe that the price on the food was worth the quality but its the complete opposite . They are serving low quality food with high a price tag. I hope people will read this review before giving them a shot. Do not order drinks and if you do order steaks make sure you tell them from the beginning to make it right or do not...

With all of the great reviews, we were really looking forward to this place.  Unfortunately, it was very disappointing.  It’s a very small place, but nice, a little eclectic, and the background music is good.  The tables are very small.  It wasn’t busy and I asked if we could sit at a larger table (that was already set for two) and the hostess told me no because they were saving the bigger tables for graduation groups.  I was ok with that.  Until a half hour later when she sat another couple (just two people) at the table I had requested.

We started with a spider roll.  Flavor was there, but very loosely rolled and the pieces kept falling apart between the plate and your mouth.  She ordered the prime filet and I had the Kansas City strip.  Both were cooked as ordered, but the flavor just wasn’t there.  Very bland.  No seasoning (salt, pepper, something).  I have honestly had a better steak at the 99 chain restaurant.  And the sides were not much better.  Bacon mac and cheese was more like bacon pasta, barely any cheese.  The mashed potatoes are completely doused in butter (which it states on the menu), but the flavor was just weird.  And the cheesy tater tots are not really tots.  It’s a mashed potato ball, battered, and fried. We didn't finish any of the food, not even the steaks.

The drinks were normal. The server was very good.  No complaints there.  Drinks, apps, and dinner for two was more than $300.  For that kind of money, there are so many better places in providence.  Will not go back...

Waited this evening for approximately 45min to an hour and continued to check in with hostess who happened to be the manager who was polite and respectful. She informed me that 2 people would be leaving the bar soon and I would have one of their seats next! When I sat down at the bar the bartender “Brennan” said in a rude tone “you can’t sit there” I explained the manager had told me I had that seat and I had been waiting a long time and his reply was “ well these people have waited longer than you so I don’t know what to tell you! You just can’t sit here! # 1 there were no other people standing for the bar and the manager had told me no one else was waiting but he had people slide down over who were already at the bar #2 his tone and attitude was not only unprofessional but rude! There’s a nicer way to say things. When I got up I let the manager know he kicked me out of “my” seat she was kind and apologetic and offered me a temporary seat that would be taken up shortly by a “company member” I declined as it would be a matter of time before I got kicked out of my seat again. They are definitely not worth the price and unless your a groupy, stay away from Brennan and his bar. I was a women sitting by myself and was treated with disrespect compared to the couples and regulars around me. I’ve enjoyed their food and service in the past but will no longer be a fan!!
