I recently visited this restaurant with a group of friends, and we were all disappointed with the service we received. The service was very slow and we had to wait long periods of time for our drinks, which were not very good. When it came time to pay the bill, we asked if we could split it between multiple cards. The manager on duty rudely informed us that the restaurant did not allow splitting the check, despite there being no policy or signage indicating this anywhere in the restaurant.
This situation was extremely upsetting because when we first got there I had asked the waitress if she could give us different checks. She said she can't for a big party. I then asked if we could just do the math ourselves and write down the last 4 of each card and the amount she needed to run it by. She said yes and even said Thank You for us offering to write it up and add the amounts ourselves.
When we asked why we couldn't use different cards, the manager became increasingly aggressive and condescending, making us feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. He said they have it in the office on their computer and if we would like for him to print a copy so we can see it. When he comes back with the policy it looks like he just made it on a word document seconds before. It was a blank piece of paper with one line in the center that read "Policy: 4 ways by dollar amount ONLY no exemptions!!!" That seemed odd that a handbook policy would look like that.
Instead of trying to find a solution or offering any sort of compromise, the manager simply told us that we needed to figure it out ourselves or pay using 4 cards and splitting equally or the entire bill on one card.
As a result of this poor customer service, we will not be returning to this restaurant in the future. It's unacceptable to have such a policy without any warning or explanation, and the manager's rude behavior only made the situation worse. Save yourself the trouble and dine elsewhere where the customer's needs are respected and...
Read moreI rarely write reviews, especially negative ones, but I had such a sour experience after dining at Moonshine Alley yesterday, that I felt compelled to share it. This was my 3rd time dining there. I hadn’t had the best experience with food and service at Moonshine Alley in the past, but I chalked that up to it being a fast-growing, new restaurant and entertainment venue. I was in Providence with my 10 year old son and two young nephews on a Sunday afternoon around 3pm, and they were all craving burgers. On a whim, I decided to take them to Moonshine Alley. The hostess was very nice, but didn’t offer us kid menus. After a few minutes, I requested them and she brought me 3 of them. All 3 boys wanted the same thing - the mini sliders off the kids menu. It comes with fries and a drink for about $10. When we ordered, the waitress said ‘oh, I think we are out of slider buns. I’ll go ask my manager.’ I just assumed they would offer the kids regular burgers (and honor the kids price). When she came back to the table, you could tell she was embarrassed to relay that her manager said that the kids had to order a burger off the regular (at full price, which I believe was $18) or pick something else off the kids menu (mind you, there’s only 4 food options on the entire kids menu). The boys reluctantly ordered their sodas and something else off the kids menu…I, on the other hand, lost my appetite and didn’t order anything. At the end of the meal, I explained to the waitress that I wasn’t frustrated with her, but with her manager’s poor actions - valuing the all mighty dollar over decent customer service. To add insult to injury, we were charged full price for all 3 sodas (which were supposed to be included with the kids meal). Three kids meals and 4 sodas later, I paid nearly $50 (before the 20% tip) and left with a really bad taste in my mouth. In a day and age where we have LOTS of choices of where to spend our money, Moonshine Alley will not be a restaurant I...
Read moreIf I could give zero stars I would. Terrible experience. Ordered take out thru Grub Hub, 15 mins later I Walked in the door and it took over 4 minutes for someone to come ask why I was there. The hostess were not present and a bar tender had to step out from behind the bar to help after watching me wait for 4-5 minutes. They then asked to see my order which I showed them. They wouldn't accept email confirmation, text messages confirmation, or even digital photos, which is all I had cause I don’t have the Grub Hub app. I began looking for the information when The missing hostess came back and offered me my food without having to show all the bs stuff they were asking for. After THEIR EMPLOYEE handed me MY food their manager/bar tender, Christian I think his name was, came out of know where and ripped my order out of my hand after the hostess handed it to me. Mind you this same manager gave me my order no problem last week(same order, same method of showing them it’s my food) . I showed them a photo id with my name on it matching the order on top of countless other methods of verification and they still wouldn't give me my food. I've been going here for years and will never spend a dollar of my money here again. I've ordered through grub hub to this tee and never had to jump through these hoops to get my food . Terrible experiences all around here. Not to mention the manager/bar tender getting into a physical scuffle with myself and ripping my bag of food open. I will never come back here. Not to mention the food is well overpriced for what It could be. All in all, I wouldn’t recommend anyone go here to dine or takeout as the experience I’ve had here recently was...
