I saw this place get hyped on TikTok, so my expectations were set high. Passed by two different times today because of appointments that I had and the line was really long, so I thought, maybe this could be good. Very curious how many of these top reviews on opening day were to be able to get a free dessert or because they like the place. When I showed up a couple hours after opening, there was no line at all. It is a very small location, so I get that this place can get full quick. The ordering process on the screens was very simple and designed very well. For the first day for the grand opening, you can see the crew hard at work. Well new place so I have to order the grill cheese and the bowl. Let's start with the grill cheese at $8.99. It was $1.99 extra for mac and cheese, I chose melted pepper jack, and $1.99 extra for protein, I chose brisket. I'm expecting this sandwich to be loaded now. I haven't even ordered my toppings yet. So I'm hoping for a messy sandwich. Toppings I got were corn, jalapeños, tomatoes, mushrooms, parmesan, bread crumbs, and pesto sauce. The toppings were probably enough to create 1 layer. Not a messy sandwich at all and it didn't even make it to all the edges of the sandwich. I barely got any mac and cheese and you can barely see the protein. I definitely didn't get that extra $4 worth of base and protein. Now to the bowl which also starts at $8.99 and $1.99 for protein which I also chose brisket. This bowl is a bit smaller than what their neighbors at Costa Vida uses, so portion size I was already feeling meh about. I chose to mix alfredo and pepperjack for my cheese options. My toppings were broccoli, corn, jalapeños, tomatoes, bell peppers, mushrooms, parmesan, bread crumbs, and to top it off with hot honey. It wasn't cheesy at all, barely any brisket and the toppings felt like the same situation like the sandwich. I don't know if the broccoli was meant to be crunchy, but I didn't like that. This feels like one of those situations where people who liked the original location, but the franchises just were not at the same par. It looks like they do a lot for the employees and focus on making sure they are taken care of. I'm curious to see how to do in a few months and I wish them the best. #thisishowichow #fyp #grilledcheese #macandcheese...
Read moreMy wife and I were excited they were opening a location in Utah. We visited the original Waco location and loved it. However, we were kind of disappointed during this visit.
We split our payment between a gift card and credit card at the kiosk, and it took forever to load (it was actually still loading when we left the store). After having a few people come in, order, and get their receipt while we were waiting, we ended up flagging down one of the employees, who explained this happened sometimes with gift cards, and helped us check out at the counter.
The store wasn't super busy (maybe 7 people in the lobby, including my wife and I), so we sat down and waited for our food. We ended up waiting for 30 minutes, and watched 2 other groups that got there after we ordered get their food, before I had to go up to the counter and ask where our food was. The employees had no record of us ordering. They actually had to take our receipt to make our order because they didn't have our orders in the system. "So sorry" is all they could say.
When we finally got the food (being in the restaurant upwards of 45 minutes at this point), it was good. They packed it to go instead of dine-in like we ordered. I wish they put more pulled pork on my bowl, considering they charge an extra $2 for it, and there wasn't a lot. Other than that, it tasted great, just like the original.
Disappointed in the service and time spent. It kind of ruined the...

Today, I had the pleasure of experiencing the grand opening of Roni's Mac Bar in Provo, UT, and it was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I walked in, the inviting atmosphere set the stage for a cozy yet vibrant dining experience.
The menu, centered around gourmet mac and cheese, offers an impressive array of creative twists on this classic comfort food. I started with the Truffle Shuffle, a rich blend of truffle oil, sharp cheddar, and crispy breadcrumbs that left my taste buds dancing. The pasta was perfectly cooked, with a delightful creaminess that felt indulgent without being overwhelming.
Next, I had to try the BBQ Mac, featuring tender pulled pork and a tangy house-made sauce. It was a savory explosion of flavors that perfectly balanced sweetness and smokiness, making it a standout dish.
The service was equally commendable. The staff was friendly and eager to share recommendations, which added a personal touch to the experience. The open kitchen concept also allowed us to watch the chefs in action, enhancing the overall ambiance.
Roni's Mac Bar has truly raised the bar for mac and cheese lovers. With its creative menu, warm atmosphere, and attentive service, this spot is sure to become a favorite in the community. I can't wait to return and explore more of their offerings. Highly...
