I'll start with saying the food is good. If not for the taste of the food I would probably give zero stars if I could. I will also add that we were a large group and gave a lot of grace because we know how challenging larger groups can be.
We had reserved a table well in advance of our arrival and all members of the party arrived on time. We were seated relatively quickly and menus were waiting for us at the table.
Then we waited and waited and waited for someone to come and take our drink order. We were all pretty much ready to order our food by the time the waitress took our drink order, but she only took the drink order. We then waited for our drinks (nothing complicated, sodas and iced teas and water). She brought two pitchers of water to the table (which I initially thought was nice, until she then plopped a bunch of tiny plastic disposable cups in a stack on the table). Apparently it was up to us to grab a plastic cup and fill our own water. The two pitchers provided just enough water to fill the little disposable cups once with a tiny bit leftover. I know it seems like I'm dwelling a lot on the water, but it felt like I was at a fast food place with them not even giving us real cups and also expecting us to get our own water. I wouldn't mind refilling my cup of water, but being expected to get my own water from the start and only giving plastic disposable cups instead of real cups or glasses seemed cheap, unprofessional, and very poor service.
Moving on...I could have easily gotten over the water and cheap plastic cups, but the waiting was really what got to everyone in the group.
After we finally got our drinks it took over half an hour for the waitress to return to take our food order. This was on a regular week night (not a Friday or weekend) and while there were a couple of other bigger parties, those parties came after us and got their food and left before us. Now, this was in part because they had pre-ordered pizzas; however, since their food was pre-ordered that also should have meant the waitress would have needed to spend less time with those groups taking orders and should have been able to come and take our order.
After once again waiting and waiting and waiting, she finally took our order. After she took our order it took an HOUR for us to get our food. I don't mind waiting for good food, but this was beyond ridiculous. It took two hours from when we sat down to when we got our food. Again, it might have been okay if ANYONE had at least come and explained to us what the delay was. It also would have been made better if the manager had maybe offered an appetizer or done something, anything to indicate they cared.
We finally got to the point where the entire group was ready to leave. When we told the manager we were going to leave we were told the food was on the trays and would be at our table shortly. It was indeed there shortly, but clearly had been sitting waiting for someone to bring it to us as much of the food was barely even warm. So, long wait, lukewarm food, oh and bones still in the salmon. Normally a bone or two isn't a big deal, but after waiting for two hours to eat; it was a bit upsetting to the person who got the fish to get not one, not two, not three, but at least four bones in the fish.
After waiting so long you would expect everyone to be hungry enough to eat everything on their plate, but the majority of the group ended up either leaving half their food on the plate or taking the leftovers with them. The waitress was fairly quick to bring the check (before people were even done eating). You would think that maybe that was at least one good thing, but the reality was that they had taken so long to get us our food that the restaurant was actually closed before we even got our food and they wanted to rush us out so they could close up.
Keep in mind, we had been seated two hours prior to closing and we weren't sitting around chatting after the meal, they had only just given us our food and then everyone felt rushed to eat and leave.
I did enjoy my...
Read moreIf they had zero Stars that's what they would get. I made a reservation 5 days in advance for 13 people for 7 p.m. yesterday we arrived promptly at 6:45 they tell us there are still people sitting at your table but don't worry they will be done at 7 needless to say they were not done it was 7:15 we still had no table they had no idea when they were going to have a table for us and they told us that they spoke to the people twice and they didn't know what they wanted us to do. The management was useless almost like he was intimidated by me but what is the point of making a reservation when you don't even get the reservation you make. These people were in our table since 5 p.m. they told us in here it was 7:15 and we still had no table. So you mean to tell me they only have one big reservation at a time they cannot accommodate more than one big reservation and they have to hope and pray that the person in front of the previous reservation finishes in time for the next reservation really that's not how you run a restaurant but again the management was useless. and this was the second time an incident like this has happened I will never ever ever go back to Angelo's. The service is lousy the management is useless and could care less about his customers. And while I was waiting and they were ignoring me a lady was waiting 40 minutes for a salad that she called in that still wasn't ready and did she get any apologies no she did not. we were there a couple months ago with a party of five it took an hour and 10 minutes to get our food the waitress was horrible she put all of our food on one bill never brought us any drink refills didn't know who ordered what food nor did she care to ask two times in a row is enough for me. I have heard from many people that the service is terrible at Angelo's and yes it is and so is the management all they care about is taking your money so please read reviews before you go and waste your time and money...
Read moreOur family was in the area and wanted to sit on the riverwalk and relax on a gorgeous Saturday afternoon. As we arrived around 4 pm, there was plenty of open seating inside and out. Before being asked to be seated, we were first told that our wait for food would be 35-45 minutes. As it was nice out, we were ok with that and figured just being outside would help pass the time. Then we were told by the host that they had to check if they could seat us. When the host returned, we were informed we'd have to wait another 15-20 minutes to be seated because the server was too busy for another table and they didn't want us to sit at a table without food or drink because "It looks bad." After another glance around at the amount of empty tables and again asking if he was sure, we left and found dinner somewhere else. I have been here before and really enjoyed the food. However, after something like that, I'll spend my money elsewhere. My family members who are local said many businesses are struggling to find enough workers to cover shifts, but this did not appear that way to me. We saw more employees than customers and with the number of empty tables inside and out seemed more like a laziness issue than lack of staff. Additionally, there was some kind of event in town along the river that I would have thought restaurants would have planned additional staff for. I have worked in a restaurant before and understand how hard it can be to cover full tables in a big section. But, I also learned very quickly those that hustle make the best tips. I hate writing a negative review, but even 3 days later, I'm still steamed that we couldn't enjoy a meal along the riverwalk on a...
