Ma's Place Restaurant — Restaurant in Puyallup

A group of us came to Ma's Place for brunch on Sunday. My husband and I were the first ones to arrive, and we asked for a table for 8. We can be a boisterous group, but we are always respectful. It took quite some time for a waitress to come take our order. when we finally ordered our food and drinks, the food came, and as soon as we were almost done eating, they offered to take our plates. then we were presented with our 3 bills. That all is no problem. However, when we asked about adding a 2nd round of drinks. We were told that the owner called and said not to serve us anymore. The picture is painted with 3 caucasion women and their husband's of 3 different skin colors. Roll back to when I first walked into the restaurant with my husband who is black. My husband went to the restroom so only I was waiting for our table. There was a man who walked in behind us and asked if I was waiting. I said "We are waiting for a big table because there are a bunch of us" The man's response was "Where are you sitting so I know where not to sit " I didn't think much of it at the time just thinking he wanted a quiet corner. Then, during the meal, he was mean mugging our group for our entire meal from across the dining room. Most certainly, there was discrimination on someone's part here. The waitress was amazing, very attentive. The conclusion that I have come to is that our melded group is not welcome at this establishment because someone complained about the color of skin at the table.

Back up 2 weeks ago, 4 of the 6 adults had brunch in this same restaurant and were served multiple drinks until they chose to leave at the end of their meal.

When we walked back in we asked if something happened or why exactly we were cut off and she said there's cameras everywhere and the owner watches them all day

I do not recommend this place. My friend and I went there because we were told they had good wraps. It must be the only thing good. My friend ordered the deal that is given before 10am that includes eggs, bacon, pancakes, and hashbrowns. I asked for the same thing but wanted to substitute the eggs for fruit because I am allergic to eggs. I was told that they do not serve fruit but that she could give me frozen strawberries. I said that sounded great because I love frozen strawberries, they have the texture of sherbert. She said "we can't substitute anything on this deal." I said oh ok, well can I just get the eggs on a plate separate then so I can get the rest." Then the way she described what she was going to do sounded like taking a pancake off and putting the strawberries on but also keeping the eggs but on a separate plate. I said that would be great. I ordered a iced tea and my friend ordered a coffee. Well, the food came out. I got 2 pancakes and a strange looking strawberry stuff in a cup. Nothing else. My tea of course came. I said "oh well, I'm not fighting. I'm not one to send things back." I thought she may have microwaved my strawberries to melt them a bit which was ok. So I offered my friends 2 yr old daughter some strawberries. She seemed to love them. She had a few bites and then I took a bite. Turns out I was feeding her the strawberry syrup and strawberries you would find in the bottom of strawberry lemonade. My pancakes were burnt. And my iced tea tasted like I was sucking a teabag. My friends coffee was old and when she opened a creamer to put in it...

This place is a joke. I ordered a lunch menu item at 10:45 am I guess was the time from what the waitress told me. 30 minutes went by and the entire restraunt had thier food and was eating even the ones that came way after me. Now there is no where that says lunch is served at 11. Now it wouldn't have been a big deal if she came out and said the cook won't make that untill 11 do you want to wait or order something else. Instead she avoided my table I got up and had to find her to ask where my order was, she said its coming. My order never made it to my table I got up packed up my daughter and I and walked out. I went back in to ask why all this happened and she was just now bringing the order out over 30 minutes after it was ordered, keep in mind there was only about 10 other customers in there and they all were eating already so it wasn't busy. She then explained the cook wouldn't make it because it was a lunch item, which I still don't understand why she just didn't just come and tell me. I've eaten here once before and the food is terrible or the cook is not sure which and the place is filthy and needs serious upgrades and cleaning.
