Starbucks — Restaurant in Puyallup

On 11/16/2019 around 7:30 went through the drive-thru and ordered an iced cloud caramel macchiato. I pulled up to the windows and the guy at the the at the window was nice and friendly and gave me my drink. As I drove away I took a sip and it was warm and there was not one ice cube in the drink. It was in a clear cup and not a hot drink cup so I am thinking they just forgot to put in the ice.

I parked and went into the store and noticed two guys working the drive-thru and making drinks and a girl near the cashier. I showed her my drink and let her know my iced cloud caramel macchiato has no ice. She took my drink and looked at it and seemed as shocked as I was when I took a sip. She offered me a new one and took the drink back to the guys to let them know of the mistake. She then went back to doing whatever she was doing.

There were 5 people in the store and I was the only person in there waiting for a drink or food. The rest were already served and sitting enjoying what they purchased and socializing.

I stood by the cashier area looking at the different Christmas stuff while waiting for them to remake my order. Every now and then I would look over to see if they had my drink ready because they did not call my name or let me know if it was done. After some time, I moved over to where they place the finished drinks and slowly grabbed a straw and removed it from its paper wrapper, thinking my drink has got to be ready by now. Nothing. I know there were people in the drive thru but it was starting to get ridiculous for the amount of time I had to wait to get my drink.

When I did get my iced cloud caramel macchiato, the presentation on the top looked great but the cloud part was not light and whipped tasting at all. It looked and tasted like it was just milk at the top and the espresso at the bottom. No cloud.

I didn't go back. It was close to closing and I already spent too much time on this one drink. I threw most of it away.

So unhappy with my experience here tonight. I have been here many times before and always had good service. The drink/food I purchased was what I would expect from Starbucks. ...

So, among Starbucks, this one stands out! There is no one thing that is great but the overall experience adds up to being great. Oftentimes every Starbucks I go to fails in one or two specific areas but this one just did everything well. The food was Starbucks food but it was hot and they got it to me fast even during the lunch rush which is when I visited. In addition I don't know if they prioritized the lobby over the drive through (if they did this would be the only Starbucks I've ever been to that did) but I got my drink order in less than about 3 or 4 minutes. Wow!!! The lobby though moderately full was clean as were the restrooms and the trashcan located outside, two businesses down (not Starbucks' trash can) was overflowing with Starbucks trash that I'm sure customers were throwing away as they went back to their cars, had two Starbucks employees picking up the trash off the ground and collecting the garbage bag. As I said though this particular Starbucks only gets 4 stars in every individual category, the whole experience elevates the store. One of the lady managers here made my entire month by a simple act of kindness. She caught wind of the most crazy week that I've had in a very very long time, and decided to treat me to cheer me up. At this point, this is not about Starbucks coffee or this coffee or that coffee and critiquing things. This review is simply reviewing the people. The people make this place. Every time I've been here I've seen acts of maturity in this place that quite simply astound me. They have separated themselves from others Starbucks that I've been to all over the state. Simply put, when I was presented the drink of my choice on them to help cheer me up for my day, this just simply can't be beat. Acts of kindness and joyfulness are just never overrated.
