The 'World Famous' Waiting Room — Restaurant in Rahway

The waiting room is the perfect name for this place! We waited for everything except being seated. It was a Wednesday about 6 pm, it was kind of empty, plenty of tables available. There is a strange odor when you first walk into the foyer. We were asked to sit at any table and then we waited… and waited.. lol There was no menus or silverware on the table and plenty of staff.. I told my son to go get the menus by the register, a waiter heard me and brought them and asked us what we’d like to drink. He brought the drinks and then we waited and waited till we finally got his attention for our appetizer order. He was going to place the order and come back to take the rest of the order. Then we waited.. and waited some more. We only ordered wings… The wings finally arrive and he took the order and left.. No dishes or silverware!. We had to wave down a different waiter to get some. The food was good, but the service was horrible. No one came to check on us till we asked for the check and a container to take home a few left over wings. They brought the check quick but no container. I asked again, and the waiter never came back. We saw him at another table. Someone else passes us and asked if our bill was squared away. We said yes but need a small container. He says sure, I’ll get you one right away. He Goes to the kitchen area, 3 minutes later comes out with an iced coffee and is talking with the waitress by the register. Haha! Our original waiter finally passes us again and I now have to abruptly stop him and ask him once again for the container.. He finally brought it!. So you see the waiting room was named appropriately!. Food not so bad, nice looking bar/restaurant but...

I'll start with the food I thought it was decent overall I've had several items off the menu and I found them all to be somewhat enjoyable with the exception of the hot wings not done enough nor did they have the flavor I expected after the waiter spoke so highly of them. great atmosphere nice place to just stop in and grab a bite to eat the only problem I had was with the waitresses a few of them walk around like they're God's gift to the planet and ignore the the male patrons unless you're a white male and when family and there friends walk in they ignore their other customers and run to them and treat them like royalty while other people are still waiting for beverages or meals to be served to them the biggest problem I have is that waitressing is your job to serve all people who come into your establishment not the ones you pick and choose because they're of a different color and some of these young ladies act like they're God's gift to the planet and that everybody wants them and that's so far from the truth that it's just not real they need to get a grip on themselves get into their little waitressing jobs and forget about who's looking at them or how they look because everybody doesn't want them or desire them i was simply there to grab a drink and get something to eat and one thing is for sure you can't hide your personal prejudices you try to pretend that you're not but you can always tell a fake You Can't Hide who you are...

Love The Waiting Room - the food. The music. The atmosphere not so good anymore. Teenyboppers sloppy drunk and high. The service is whatever. And when someone says to cut an another person off, listen. It’s not cute to serve ppl past their limit. It’s actually rather destructive and negligent. For what ? Two extra dollars on your tip. Save a life. Next time it happens I’m calling the police and reporting the bartender bc I told her to cut someone off that was in my party and she served him down at the other end of the bar and I said something to her and she just ignored me. She won’t when I make a report. Bartenders should be MORE responsible than the ones they’re serving. Don’t serve wasted people.

also a lot of underage drinking and drugs being done in bathroom which now makes this a pretty sleazy place. Def see a decline in the last two years here. I’ve been stuck waiting for ppl to get done doing lines in the stalls.

Another thing that I know is happening is the top shelf alcohol is not being served. I never get sick from casamigos. Yet anytime I go here I pay for casamigos and must be getting some low grade crap that makes me sick. It’s happened w the bartender w the red hair definitely.

I don’t trust the waiting room anymore on so many levels. Been coming here for 15 years. Stopped going within...
