We love Amrut. I’m especially picky and am not a fan of other options in the downtown area for Indian food. As a fan of curry, this place is conveniently located and they do special dinners once a month with a limited time menu! I’ve come in and gotten the lamb masala and the chicken mango magic and both curries were very flavorful. The rice and naan were essential and the poori served at the beginning was full of flavor and perfectly balanced. They also have an extensive menu offering different food items as well as a large list of (Indian/Non-Indian) spirits, alcoholic, and even non-alcoholic beverages (boba!) that other places don’t offer in the whole triangle which truly makes them stand out. Furthermore, Marlon works hard to make sure we are always taken care of and that the food is to our liking. If I’m in downtown Raleigh, I’m not going anywhere else. Pictured are items offered for lunch; the tapas and a non-vegetarian meal. Loved the assortment and that the round platter came with a whole order of naan and plenty of rice.

Visited Amrut in downtown Raleigh and had a lovely experience. The ambiance is modern yet warm, and the staff was welcoming and attentive. We tried the Honey Chilli Lotus Stem, which was perfectly crisp with just the right amount of sweetness and heat. The Vegetable Kofta was rich and flavorful, with a creamy gravy that paired beautifully with the Cheese Garlic Naan—soft, buttery, and generously topped with cheese. Portions were decent, and the presentation was appealing. The only minor thing is that the number of kofta could have been 1 or 2 more, but overall, the flavors and experience were excellent. Definitely a spot I’d revisit for a nice Indian meal in Raleigh.

Our party of three really enjoyed our dining experience tonight at Amrut. The waitstaff and owner go out of their way to make sure you will have a memorable meal. We ordered the Watermelon Salad, Lamb Shank, Mango Magic with chicken, Chicken Tikka Masala, and garlic naan - all absolutely delicious. For dessert, The Apricot Delight cake was light and custardy, not overly sweet, and a perfect end to the meal. Because it was my birthday, we were also treated to some Gulag Jamun - sweet fried dough swimming in a light and creamy sauce. YUM! What a lovely evening. We look forward to returning.

We are food enthusiasts and drove from Greensboro to Raleigh to eat at Amrut, looking at the great reviews. Ordered chicken lollipop, crab masala and apricot delight. I had two not so pleasant experiences: When we bit the crab, there was an unpleasant tasting liquid, most parts were like that, some parts (5% of the crab) were okay. Told the server, he said they recently changed to soft crab and we were the first people having it. I think its good to try new things but they should maybe be validated before giving opening it to public. They offered 10% discount (and also offered a 10% discount coupon valid for the month of September) but I think as a courtesy, they shouldnt have charged for it or given more discount. The dish was $30. We have had soft crabs before, so didn't expect that. I read that the liquid thing happens when the crab is not cleaned properly. The taste was so weird. Curry was good. Some tables were offered complimentary pani puri. We weren't offered anything. Either be fair to all customers, or dont offer anything. This just makes it awkward.

The lollilop was good. Apricot dessert was really good, on the sweeter side. Ambience, decor everything was really nice.

Dont think would recommend strongly to...

Wonderful service…. I will definitely be returning. The staff is amazingly observant. You almost don’t have to ask for anything. they will take care of you. The bartender, James, has wonderful suggestions and pairings. I will be returning to try some of their more authentic dishes…as I played it safe and got the butter chicken. One of the best of experiences I’ve gotten. I would also like to add, for a restaurant to only have been open for 3 weeks…. James, the bartender, was a wonderful choice in staffing, as he has beautiful customer service skills (people skills in general) and adds a wonderful shine to an otherwise… up and down location. I will absolutely be returning for their lunch specials….or a hot date…..

I stopped here for a quick lunch and depended on the prior google reviews which did not lie. About is my new favorite Indian Cousine location. I have no doubt that they will stay in business for a long time. thank you so much to the staff for a wonderful...
