Good portion size of fries but the toppings are only on top. Should “spread” out the toppings like a flat tray of nachos. It was tasty and I’m glad we got them but I would not wait in line for them again. Service at this location was not good. Giving them 3 out of 5 because they just opened. Would have given 2 out of 5 if not. The food hall was slammed, my girlfriend was able to order at two different locations before I ordered here. More detail.

To be fair, this location just opened up recently at the Morgan street Food Hall and they need to do some process improvement. Stood in line for quite some time, watched three customers get out of line in front of me. The employees seemed overwhelmed and flustered, they didn’t know the menu, they didn’t know how to handle the customers, and didn’t know what menu items were out or not. Should have a different system to show order items instead of one hand device to share. Should put up menu items for employees to quickly reference.

After I stood in line for over 30 minutes they finally took my order: two bottles of water and a regular americano. I asked her if she had bottled water and she said I think so and charged me. After waiting 5 minutes for my fries (which is fair) she said we don’t actually have water. She should have checked since the cooler was four feet away from her. She offered a smoothie and I turned it down. At this point I was very frustrated and just wanted to eat my food. After about five minutes, one of the employees found me at the food hall and gave me two smoothies, they were really sweet.

Again, I would not get these in the future if...

My family and I were visiting Raleigh for a few days. We were in search of good spots for a quick bite. Morgan Street Food Hall was recommended and we are glad we went. Immediately we gravitated to Buena Papa Fry Bar and it did not disappoint! Who doesn’t like fries?! It was a busy Friday evening at the Food Hall. Although it was busy, thankfully we did not have a long wait in line. There were a few staff taking orders so that helped. The young lady who took our order was friendly and knew the menu well. I ordered El Colombiano, it was sooo good! I was very hungry that I ordered a large lol. Let me tell you, a large can feed 2 if not 3 people. I happily ate half of my fries and sadly departed with the other half. My husband, who is not much of a fry guy, ordered El Griego. He ordered a regular size and ate it all. That says a lot! We appreciate the option to customize an order since our kids are special aka picky eaters. They enjoyed an order of fries and bacon, which actually sounds like a perfect combo to me lol. The fries were to perfection and the toppings were well proportioned…and not to mention DELICIOUS!!! This was totally like a meal. Did I mention their refreshing natural juices?! We ordered a Passion Fruit and Blackberry juice. The juices were amazing and a perfect cool drink for a hot summer day. Overall we had a great experience and would...

First Reketah was 5/5 in service! Very friendly efficient and made out trip there worth it. She is why I gave 3/5 instead of 2/5.

Quality: We got The Carolina and El Americano. The fries were soggy/under cooked. This was the most disappointing part of the entire thing. There were not crispy.

The BBQ meat on the Carolina we good n a good portion size. The coleslaw was okay but not great. They were very light on the BBQ sauce overall.

El Americano they use nacho cheese instead of a shredded chedder melt which is real disappointing but if you like Nacho Cheese then you will like this.

Quantity: for 12 buck I would say the quanity, with the knowledge of the Quality, was not enough. Has the dish been better MAYBE but def not worth that value.

Sauces: They only had 3 sauces=aioli ,BBQ(thick), Mayo Chipotle which was a disappointment.

Speed: This is another big concern for a location that you would think be moving fast. Though the service was great, only one person was up front working, and doing a great job, can not prep enough dishes to handling more than 1/2 orders. It took about 8 minutes for us to be able to order and another 8 to just build our orders.

This place definitely has a lot of potential to be a great place to grab a late night eat or mid day lunch, but right now it will be some time...

I came to Buena Papa to see what all the buzz was about, and it definitely did not disappoint! The options were so culturally accurate, I came with my entire family so we were able to try a bunch of different options. I had the Boricua, and it was delicious! As a Puerto Rican myself I was hoping it would taste authentic and it definitely did. My older brother tried the Greek, and he said it was really good, my two younger brothers shared the Italiano, which is great for picky kids because who doesn’t love meatballs? My mom tried El Healthy and she said the sweet potato fries were really good! Whoever created the menu is a genius, because just the authenticity and variety is what really makes it unique. The fries tasted pretty fresh, and their texture wasn’t overly crispy like fast food fries. The staff was really nice to us, and patient because since we’re a big family we had a lot to order. The blackberry and passionfruit smoothies are DELICIOUS. All around, this place is a great addition to the Morgan Street Food Hall, and it’s black and latino family-owned so it feels good to support their business!
