Landmark Tavern — Restaurant in Raleigh

One time a Landmark bartender added a tip that I did not authorize and I'll never forget that!

I have mixed feelings about this bar because I come here for affordable drinks, but the vibe is weird sometimes.

They have nice indoor and outdoor seating.

When it's busy, the vibe is very entitled, plenty of inconsiderate people act like they don't see me and yell over my shoulder and in my ear to the bartender/their friends and/or just plainly violate my personal space.

One night a girl kept excitedly screaming inside the building and no employee told her to stop.. I wanted to, but I didn't want to end up fighting!

It seems people forget etiquette here, we can still have fun while being respectful, but when it's busy here, people don't think about that.

Every bar is not like that when it gets busy, so I don't know why this crowd is like that, but I wish they respected personal boundaries more. That's why I drink here but don't stay for the atmosphere unless...

I like to call this every man's bar. No frills. No fuss. Just great drinks, great atmosphere and great bartenders. The music is generally good to excellent depending on who's behind the bar. The selection of beer and liquor is excellent and the wine selection covers just about all your bases. The bar and interior is classic and warm with great seating and use of the space. The patio is accomodating and a great spot to hang with friends and meet locals. They have 2 tvs so you can catch a game if you like. No food, but feel free to bring in anything from the surrounding sprawl. Get an old fashioned from Jason. Softest hands...

I really like the Landmark. You definitely don't get stiffed on your drinks here. For whatever reason, some of the bartenders aren't very friendly, but other than that it's usually a fun time. There's also an outdoor area that helps with crowd control. The main problem with Landmark is the men's bathroom situation. You may have to wait behind 5 other dudes to use the one-seater bathroom they have. I would advise to not wait too long to take care of your business. So, it's minus a star for easily annoyed bartenders and minus another for assaulting...
