I’ve been shopping at Raleigh Wine Shop for several years. Their stock is unique, sourced from smaller vineyards and real winemakers who love wine. They have something for every price point and every palate. This shop is my go-to if I need an impressive bottle for a gift. The staff is so knowledgeable, and I always enlist their help to find the perfect pour. Also, a lot of them used to work in the restaurant industry so they are great at pairings, and have given me some great suggestions!
If you’re looking for a unique private event with a group, look no further. I booked a private tasting for a friend’s bachelorette party, and Tristan, our somm, was amazing. He picked a great selection of wines from around the world and did a great job educating us about the wines and kept the energy high throughout the evening.
I also want to note how great the owners are- our tasting was originally scheduled for the previous weekend but due to weather we had to postpone. They quickly rebooked us and made sure we still were able to have our fun night. Seth and his team truly care about the guest experience, and it shows in every...
Read moreReally poor service. Very discriminatory experience. Not following CDC guidelines with medical exemptions. So many better places to go in Raleigh.
Edit: Clearly Seth doesn't know CDC guidelines given that he indicates he was following them, but in actuality is not - CDC guidelines indicate that medical and religious exemptions should be honored. Yes the business has the choice, but they also will deal with the consequences of discrimination. Over the phone there was no accommodations, just a "wear the mask, or don't attend". It's funny how demeanor changes when you receive a negative review after treating a potential customer wrong. We went to several businesses all within the same blocks of this shop that same night and not a single one was requiring masks and most people didn't wear them. Happy to support businesses in Raleigh that care for all people and...
Read moreThis is the exact definition of the wine shop that every neighborhood needs. There is no place like this in Raleigh. The selection is good-sized, but extremely well-curated. James, Seth, Liz, and Lilly-Gray are friendly and knowledgeable, and most importantly, have tasted all of the wines. They know their producers, and if you have any questions they will certainly get answered. Pricing is fair, and recommendations have all been spot on (especially for off-the-beaten path wine regions and grapes). They will drop everything and look for any special order you may request. They have frequent, high quality tastings, and great rotating deals (the Sir Walt's six pack). Small selection of beer and cordials as well. We couldn't be happier to live nearby. This is truly unparalleled customer service...
