Not terrible, but not great.
The place is a "quick-food" style restaurant. Meaning you order first, take a number card, and wait. The experience is similar to Fire Wings.
One thing that rubbed me the wrong way, and is not unique to this place, is the idea of tipping before getting the food. Asking for an extra $7 before I even get the food is questionable. Tipping is usually reserved for good service, good food, or both, and having to do so before experiencing either of those seems insulting. Again, this is not unique to Ramen 101. It is just a trend that I am strongly against.
The actual food was okay. It was definitely not my favorite broth, and was a little on the sweet side. Also, the prepared egg was bland, either not not let to marinate long enough or maybe not at all. The meat was actually pretty fantastic the best part and the only reason I might return.
The service was also fine. One criticism was that the food came out at different times, and this led to me halfway finishing my meal before my wife even got hers.
I definitely don't feel like this was a waste of money or time, but there are better options for ramen out there. I would recommend you try it once to see if it's to your taste, but I would bet that this place wouldn't really...
Read moreI really like this place, but today I'm going to have to rate 1 star. I ordered the spicy shoyu ramen and the musubi. I ordered through postmates so there's already a chance the order will be messed up and sure enough, the other half of my order was missing. I received the refund through the app, but I still wanted to know if the order was even made and maybe the driver kept it because that would've been a different complaint. When I called, the girl I spoke to laughed when I said I'm missing the musubi and said that was her mistake. I really didn't like the fact these people think its funny when they make a mistake with people's orders. Like pay attention, how hard is that? The girl said she'll take my name and number and I'll get a 10% discount the next time I go in, that's great and all, but I really just wanted the musubi. And honestly, I don't live anywhere near Rancho Cordova I just work near. Why would I go that far just to use that 10%? It doesn't make sense. Please make sure you're getting your to-go...
Read moreI am not a soup guy. I will generally have something else but thought it is a ramen place, so I should try their ramen. I'm glad I did. I tried the bbq pork ramen. The pork was tender and flavored nicely. There were two ribs. The noodles were more substantial than instant ramen noodles and had nice texture. As I said before, I am not big on soup but found the broth to be very tasty. I got spicy, which had nice flavor, though I did not find it particularly hot. I found the egg to be exquisite. It had absorbed the broth and was soft and delicious. We had some of the appetizers and enjoyed them as well. The chicken was toasty warm while tender and jucy and had a nice sauce. I will be...
