Thai Cafe — Restaurant in Redding

I really don’t get how this place got so many stars. We tried out this place after seeing some pictures of their food posted at a local grocery store and they looked delicious. Reluctant to eat there after recalling how bland their food was but went and dined there anyways. We got their pho, beef pad Thai, and basil eggplant dish. All three dishes were really disgusting. The beef in the pad Thai smelled rotted, the pho noodles had no condiments other than a bottle of Sriracha and dried peppers. The soup had a salty taste and no other flavors than that. Basil eggplant dish had no color to it so it was obviously going to be tasteless. Service was just ok. We were so disappointed with the food. We’re Asians and know how Thai food should taste. The food was very disappointing, but the service was good. Maybe the service was good because I went on July 4th and there were only two other tables there for lunch. Back to the food quality, the sticky rice was not cooked enough and was still very hard. I had ordered two servings of sticky rice and two mango and sweet sticky rice, but had to toss them all because it was so hard and under cooked. I also ordered Pad Thai, Angle wings, and papaya salad. The papaya salad was ok, it was not crunchy and should have been. The angel Wings were breaded and fried which is not how it's normally prepared. The pad Thai is definitely not authentic Thai.
