This is a nice casual place with little bit of an identity crisis. The decor, the menu, and the prices say that this is what it's name professes it to a be, a "trendy", hip, cafe. However, the service and the vibe of this place screams "casual diner".
The staff is efficient but not what you would want for the cost of the food. They have loud, personal conversations in front of their patrons. Everything everyone does is done very loudly. Such as, the bussing of tables, the gathering of ice into buckets, and the sorting of silverware, etc., makes you think that you are in a truckstop off of some highway.
I ordered the Monte Christo sandwich, which was not a true one, which is usually battered and deep fried, but the more modern version which is basically a French Toast sandwich with meat and cheese inside. Still, it was very good and the county potatoes, not usually my favorite, were expertly executed, crispy with a lot of fried garlic. That and coffee, plus a 20% tip, cost me twenty dollars. Pretty steep for lunch at a diner.
Their location would make me think that they would be full with the surrounding medical staff, doctors, technicians, and such but all I saw on my visit looked like people who were probably patients of the many medical services in the area. However, this was my first and only visit so I could be wrong. I give their food 5 stars but the total, overall experience merits 4 stars. Still, it is worth a visit, especially since there is not much else in the...
Read moreat the expense of sounding like a karen, yikes. i'm never ordering food from here again. they forgot so much of our order. here's the list: my berry french toast was squishy, not "crispy" berries were warm, french toast was cold. blueberries were actually okay. they forgot cheese on my eggs, which we paid for. the bacon was the exact opposite of "extra well done." forgot berries on an order of berry pancakes biscuits are stale. there's no redeeming way to put that. hash browns were bland. so were the eggs. apparently the chicken fried steak had a good amount of salt, but the rest of that part of the order was basically unsalted. over medium eggs were over-easy. pancakes were cold and the strawberries were warm. this seems to be a trend... whipped cream was... cream. not whipped anymore. hot chocolate was warm, disappointing chocolate. this is the least of our woes, though, because we like making homemade hot chocolate. i work in the food industry. if i made this many mistakes, i'd be sliced and diced. normally i include photos with my reviews. i like taking nice, yummy-looking photos that show off the chef's work. i had zero inspiration to do so with this food. had high hopes, and they were dashed. sorry Trendy's, i wanted to...
Read moreAbsolutely fantastic service, the food was delicious and the servings are really big. I got the chorizo and eggs, and the chorizo is so good. My mom got tacos and she actually doesn't eat salsa I don't know if I ever seen her eat it she is very picky but the waitress told her it was good and not spicy so she decided to go ahead and try it and she actually absolutely loved it. The waitress I can not say enough how fantastic she was, very, very kind, she knew the menu and she was more then willing to tell us what some of the things were that we didn't know. The waitress was fast, she had a smile the entire time, the restaurant was very, very clean and the guys in the kitchen were so fast the wait was not long at all and they had smiles on their face too. I have been wanting to try Trendy's for months and finally made it to have breakfast/lunch with my mom and it was fantastic. The other customers were all pleasant as well, the whole environment was just very welcoming the way a restaurant should be and we will 100 percent be back to eat there for sure. GREAT JOB EVERYBODY AT TRENDY'S YOU ARE ALL DEFINITELY A VERY GOOD TEAM KEEP UP THE AWESOME WORK...
