Do not place large orders here! We are super disappointed in the rude customer service. We were loyal customers and have been coming here since 2013, before the original owners sold. The new owners carried on the same recipes so we have happily been coming here after the transition, through Covid, etc. We loved coming here with our kids a couple of times a month; the owners recognized us (both old and new owners). We have told many, many people about their donuts and have purchased many dozen by preorders for our kidsâ birthdays and sports teams. We placed our last order online for our sonâs football team and 10th birthday party (both in the same weekend). When we went in to pick up the preordered donuts for the Saturday game (15 minutes after our estimated pick up time) the owner scolded my husband very rudely that he needed to wait for his order (he wasnât cutting in line, he was just waiting with the other people in line) and only helped him after everyone else had left. The other owners were super nice that day. On Sunday, he went in to pick up donuts for the birthday party. We had preordered 2 dozen maple bars and had been told previously that we had an hour after our pick up time to pick up the order or they would sell them. My husband arrived right on time that day and a different owner from the day before accused him of stealing all of their maple bars. The reason why we preordered this was so that they could make extra (not take from their normal sales). Needless to say, despite our long loyalty to this donut shop, we will not be returning. If they do not want large orders, they should have that be their policy. If they do take large orders, it seems logical that the large order would not be made in addition to their normal batches. Super disappointing. Their donuts are great but not worth getting yelled at and reprimanded for frequenting their...
Read moreFoodbits include: cruller puffs (Thur-Sun), croissants (ham & cheese or plain), kolaches (spicy and nonspicy), donut holes, maple and chocolate bars (plain, with nuts, or with bacon), tiger tails, bear claws, cinnamon rolls, jelly filled, cream filled, cake donuts, old fashioned, buttermilk, and more. It helps to like a variety of donuts because they only sell what they made that morning.
I've been visiting here for about a year. I LOVE the donuts, they are very fresh and well-priced. Unfortunately, lately I try to go in at noon or 1 and they are closed because they sold out. Please, please, this has been troubling you forever, Sunrise; make more donuts in order to stay open to serve customers throughout your open hours, or change your hours to reflect your business needs without occasionally disappointing customers. If I am trained that your doors will be locked at 1 pm, then I will stop considering your business as an option when I am hungry at 1 pm.
I really miss the chai latte I like to order. Here are far better prices than Starbucks, in exchange for a far smaller menu. I suppose now is a good time to start making my own lattes -- it'll be even cheaper and...
Read moreMy experience was not great. There was very little selection in donuts and other pastries (it was about 10 a.m. on a Thursday, so about 3 hours before they close and 4.5 after they open). I had a custard filled, chocolate iced yeast donut. I like yeast donuts, and this one was good, but nothing crazy special. The custard inside was pretty legit, but the donut itself wasn't really any better than dunkins or safeway. The frosting wasn't doing much either way. It's pretty hard to impress with a donut if it's not warm, though.
The main problem was the coffee. It was truly awful, one of the most bitter lattes I've ever had. I generally like a pretty sweet latte, but I'll still drink a good "sophisticated" coffee if it's made well. This one tasted like it had no sweetener whatsoever, which is one of like 3-4 ingredients in a latte, it was just inexcusably bad. I'm not sure if they had a station inside before I left with sugar or what, but that's NOT the norm for espresso places around here, and they certainly didn't tell me if there was. I had to chuck it after only a few sips.
The staff was...
