"I don't care" if you never come back.
I no longer recommend this place as good quality has faded and service is completely gone. There are lots of new restaurants in redmond, find another one.
Good, as I will never go there again. I have been here 40-50 times. Leaving my old review from when this place was friendly with great service and food. A lot of nice places opening up in Redmond.
We asked for a table and were told we could find a place at the bar. After waiting for a while, two seats opened as as we sat down, even before the area was cleaned, two seats a booth opened up and asked the server to move there.
When we went to sit we were told the table will go to a couple who came after us, who were put on the wait list. We were never offered a wait list. When I asked is that the case, as I was happy to relinquish the table if they came before us and was told again, you did not put your name on the wait list. I said I wanted to be clear on the sequence of events and as we had an issue with this. I was told as I won't listen to them, we were told to leave. I never raised my voice. I only asked several times did the other couple come before or after us, and it is a surprise and we were frustrated if this is the case.
When leaving I said to the girl at the front the "service" I have been here 40-50 times and never been treated like this and won't be coming back. Her answer was, I don't care and she waved her are at the door dying, leave. We did. Good luck with your business.
My date was raised in Japan. As an exec, I can be intimidating. I asked her was I harsh. She said the manager, while a polite tone had attitude. The young lady at the front was oitright crass and should never be in a service position.
When it is multiple layers of attitude with no control, you have a service culture cancer.
My previous review For NW American/Mexican it is one of the better local options. I am always happy with their carnitas plate and their salsa is also one of the best...
Read moreHaving visited Matador in Redmond on several occasions, I feel compelled to share my invariably positive experiences. This is a place where consistency pairs wonderfully with quality, making it a must-visit location for both locals and travelers alike.
One of Matador's standout features is undoubtedly the food. The menu offers a diverse selection that caters to varied palates, but what really leaves a mark is the reliability of the culinary experience. Regardless of the dish you choose, you can expect the same level of quality, taste, and freshness every time. It’s a testament to the skill and care of the culinary team who seem to have perfected the art of consistency.
Complementing the stellar dining experience is Matador’s robust offering of drinks, curated and served by an exceptionally skilled bartending staff. Every cocktail I’ve enjoyed has been impeccably balanced and full of flavor, mirroring the consistency seen in the food. The reassuring familiarity of tasting a favorite drink, just as you remember it from previous visits, speaks volumes about the attention to detail exhibited by the bartending team.
However, what truly sets Matador apart is the warmth and friendliness of its staff. The bartenders at Matador don’t just serve drinks; they create an atmosphere that’s inviting, warm, and delightfully engaging. Conversations flow easily, making the bar feel like a gathering of friends rather than a mere dining transaction.
In essence, Matador offers an unwavering dining experience, marked by consistent food quality, excellently crafted drinks, and a welcoming ambiance. Whether you’re looking for a comfortable spot for a casual meal or a vibrant setting to unwind with a well-made drink, Matador in Redmond is sure to deliver a gratifying experience time and again. I wholeheartedly recommend it for anyone seeking reliability in excellent cuisine...
Read moreThe Matador chain is clearly happy with the way things are operating and not looking to improve. The Redmond manager is even more clearly happy with mediocrity and doing absolutely nothing to improve sales for the restaurant.
My adventure started around 7:15pm on a Tuesday when I attempted to place a take out order and got placed on hold for someone who could help me. After 4 minutes on hold I attempted to call back and it goes to voicemail. Still, over an hour later calls still ring to voicemail. So, I drove to the restaurant, grabbed an open seat at the bar, ordered a draft beer and food. Received a water promptly, chips and salsa a bit later, and my entree several minutes later. No beer. Asked the kind gentleman who brought my food if he could assist because not one of the 3 bartenders would pay me any attention. My experience was common with the couple next to me who had to wait for attention to get refills. Zero effort here to sell anything. Food was good but the $3 avocado add was just in the end of the burrito as an entire 1/2 avocado not even sliced. I would NEVER put myself thru the experience again so this place is dead to me after the first visit. Doesn’t anyone there find it even a bit strange you don’t have any take out orders being called in? Anyone??? Yeah it’s because your phone goes to voicemail.
10/10/2024 edit after management feedback to this review. YOU are the problem and it’s clear just by watching how people are treated at the bar. I’m staying directly across the street for 2 weeks. All of my meals are comped. I paid zero for my experience at your establishment and I wouldn’t come back again IF...
