Hotel room was neat and maintenance team helped in keeping it right to my choice. Team at Breakfast counter was very friendly and always welcomed with a nice smile... that really helps in shining the morning mood. Front desk team helpful in most cases except Internet Service. Residence Inn was near to my office location in RTC and it was convenient in reaching the office.
However, I have following concerns where hotel needs to be improved and that's the reason behind giving overall rating as Fair but not as Excellent:
I stayed in Suite No. 517 and Wi-Fi was pathetic. I have complained about it many times, but I don't see any response from the hotel team. Sometime front desk people used to tell me that "It's a problem with service provider and nothing wrong at hotel". If that is the case, placing a small note at Front desk or in each suite, saying 'Sorry for the inconvenience' would help in arranging alternatives. Throughout the stay, I had to rush to office to complete my work as I left with little or no internet. Please note, I have even walked from Microsoft RTC 5 building to hotel at 2:30AM in the night to attend offshore calls/meetings. Its all because I don't have sufficient internet at my suite. I have complained the same, but there was no help at all. Is this how, you treat your guests? I would rate Internet Service and people help on this topic as zero out of 10. Trust me, I had suffered a lot due to pathetic internet service.
Breakfast served in the morning was okay but for people who prefer pure vegetarian had no other option than quitting breakfast. I don't prefer eating pork and beef. It was very tough for me to identify the dishes and I used to ask the team to know the ingredients to understand the category it belongs to. Why can't you just keep a note of dish name and whether it is Veg or Non-veg? also a simple list of ingredients would help a lot in choosing the dish. There were no Muffins served in breakfast.. I see it in lot of other hotels but it was missing in the menu. Also same menu was repeated for whole week and it...
The hotel was fine. Nothing fancy, but it was fine. I ended up leaving an extra bag/purse in my room when I checked out. I understand this is my fault, not the hotel's fault that I left it. However, the process of trying to find it has been extremely frustrating. When I realized I had left it there the next morning, I called the hotel. They checked lost and found and said nothing was there from our room. I explained that I had put it inside a cupboard in the bedroom/bathroom area. They said housekeeping doesn't usually look inside cupboards. I asked them if they could go look, and he said they wouldn't be able to do that for several hours. They seemed bothered that I was asking but I asked them to look when they got a chance because the purse had my work things in it such as keys I needed. Over 8 hours later, I had still not heard from them. I called back to have someone else tell me there still wasn't anything in lost and found from our room. I called the next day to talk to a manager who said she sent people to check the room and it wasn't there. I then called back to try and set up a time to come look in the room myself in between checkouts some day/time because I wanted to look where I think it was left (kind of hidden). I was transfered to the manager and got his/her voicemail so I left a detailed message. I received no call back even 10 hours later that day. It has been a very frustrating experience trying to get my purse back and it is now missing. In my opinion, this was very poor customer care and communication. When someone staying at your hotel forgets something, you should try to be helpful and communicative in the process of them finding it. And it should be able to be found. I have already told several friends and family members about my experience and they are disappointed in how it was...
Read moreWe tried the two bedroom suite and loved the room. Plenty of space for both of us to work, comfortable beds and a nice sized kitchen. It was a busy week in Redmond so when we realized that the heater took hours to slightly warm up a very cold room, we could not move to another room.
We have to call down just about every day for blankets just to keep warm while fixing dinner or watching TV. Most every time we asked for two blankets (as they were usually removed by housekeeping during the day), we were originally sent one and then had to ask again for a second blanket. No one ever offered to have the heater looked at when we called down and told them the room was freezing. We just were not impressed at all with this service.
We also had a very unpleasant experience at the bar/restaurant inside the hotel. I ordered a low carb medium hamburger when we arrived hungry off the plane. The bartender tried to upsell to the Kobe burger but I explained I just needed something simple and quick. About 10 minutes later, he informed us they could not cook the hamburger medium as it came partially cooked and frozen...so I have to order the Kobe burger to get something that they would not overcook. I also asked for guacamole as it was offered on the menu. The burger was fine and the guac was missing. When the bartender finally took a break from his intent watching of the Olympics, the guac was provided and appeared to be thick pea soup that had been squirted into a little peak into a bowl. It was so disgusting, I sent it back the next time the bartender had a TV break for us. We would not...
