Goolee's Grille — Restaurant in Rehoboth Beach

First time trying Goolee's.. and it is a must try and a return type place! Started off being greated by a friendly and funny fellow, in fact everyone was friendly. Our server was attentive and the food came out quick. Our daughter went with chocolate chip pancakes. She dived right in and gobbled them up. I had the Papa's Supreme as I couldn't decide what to get.. my oh my, what an abundance of food.. tasty food! I'm not typically a breakfast person, let alone one for pancakes, these pancakes were delicious, best I have had. The home fries were crispy, the eggs I ordered scrambled and they were fluffy and cheesy. The ham was great as was the thick cut toast. I couldn't finish it however, I am glad I got to try a bit of it all. My hubby, always orders chipped beef gravy whenever we go out for breakfast as it is hard for him to find it served with flavor. He was really impressed and kept mentioning how much he liked it. He had the Granny's and he really liked the gyro meat as well as the home fries. Overall we were very pleased with our breakfast. Came her for a birthday breakfast in the summer of 2021. Its currently November 10th 4:30am 2022 and the dining experience I had here still keeps me up at night. Tried to order a veggie omelet with cheese. Waitress informed that we couldnt change or do substitutions because it wasnt a weekend? Which was fine but it was odd adding cheese was listed as an option on the menu and the rule wasnt any where listed that I saw. I digress. Was brought someone elses meal. Mistakes happen. Was brought someone else meal a second time. Sent it back.

Waitress tried arguing about when they could serve alcohol despite it being listed on the menu.

Waitress mocked one of the friends I was with.

Food finally comes out. I ordered a veggie omelet with homefries. What I got was a pile of unseasoned scrambled eggs with raw onions peppers and mushrooms with visible dirt and a side of raw potatoes. Like it takes real effort to screw up eggs that badly.

Waitress disappears for an hour without a word. Never comes back so we swiped a menu and calculated the total ourselves and left it on the table.

We were in town for a week and tried many places for breakfast. We're picky and biased towards quality food and service. This place was by far our favorite in town, we visited a number of times. Great omelets, hash browns are probably the best I've ever had anywhere. I'm a bread/toast fan but the bread was thick cut and very filling. I could only eat one piece. Portions were very large, had trouble finishing all the food. Staff was busy, but wait times weren't bad, it's the beach, sometimes you have to wait a little. Regardless of how busy, the staff worked hard and were very efficient, but more importantly they were extremely friendly and had very good people skills when taking orders, etc. Quite impressed with every server we had during our visits.
